Farsley Flyers trail walkers skirting the edge of Calverley Woods before piercing through the middle for the return. Even threw in the stream crossing while it's simply dribbling.

The rolled through Leeds today, bagging all the cheeses! Trivial Pursuit Leeds is here, so we added mental exercise to our physical 5.5km session.

Work (tenant) at Wellington Place Leeds? Join us Thursdays 12:15 from Wellington Central to explore Leeds - there's more to see running than just the lovely waterways.

Owlcotes (medieval village), Cider Annie's, Tyersal, Ducketts Crossing, Woodhall Lake for tonights Farsley Flyers trail walkers with a little blackberry picking on the way.

We also did a cheeky check of the new (unopened) bridleway connecting Dawson's Corner to the woods/Owlcotes Hill.

Cabbage Hill for the lunchtime today!

Each week adapted to the group on the day, and this week saw there was the opportunity for a stretch run (longer than usual). Taking the 4.7miles/427ft loop from Wellington Place to Cabbage Hill in Wortley.

Well done all and hope the views were worth the uplifted pace & distance! It was also the biggest group we've had heading out here.

Work(tenant) at Wellington Place Leeds? Join us Thursdays 12:15 from Wellington Central to explore Leeds. Routes adapted on the day to those who join; 45 mins -/+6km.

Next week, maybe Trivial Pursuit? (5km but town)

By far the biggest change since February was at Gawthorpe - council owned land which had a gorgeous green path, now formed into a Tunguska tribute. Nothing on planning permission portal, so dunno what's happenning - is it the powerline clearing that seems to be going on everywhere? 🤷‍♂️

The farmers were busy with harvesters, you do worry how the dry spell has impacted crops as that's pretty early. Though by the looks of the meadow near Batley, it's better than burning - I wonder if this is the field we saw burning from the airport on Saturday?

Otherwise, still pretty much my fave mid-distance route.

A visit to Crag House Farm (Caring for Life) today then to the airport.https://www.strava.com/activities/19458373713Spec...

Spec was to have 3hrs of walking. Off-spec was a roastie pork pie and Tiffin from the farm 😋

A nice bit of climbing with that route at 1,200ft, and about the same distance as Otley. Well done everyone 🙂
