There was a very warm welcome this morning when Cllr Simon Eardley , councillor for the Saughall and Mollington Ward on Cheshire West and Chester Council visited the Hospice of the Good Shepherd and met our CEO Richard Soulsby.

Richard and Simon spent some time talking about the impact the Hospice has on the local community. Simon then had a tour of our Inpatient Unit from Debbie Evans our Ward Manager.

Simon it was great to see you today, thank you for visiting the hospice and your continued support.

Richard Soulsby CEO of our Hospice was delighted to welcome Samantha Dixon MBE MP to the hospice this morning.

Richard and Sam spent some time discussing the Hospice’s recent CQC Inspection “Outstanding” rating as well as the challenges around hospice funding. Sam then had a tour of our Inpatient Unit and viewed our newly refurbished patient bedrooms and met some of our team.

Stop horsing around! 🏇 Come and watch the Pantomime Horse Race this Sunday at Chester Racecourse for Family Fun Day 🎉

We would like to say thank you and congratulations to Thad and Ruth who got married in May, and kindly decided to include our hospice in their celebrations 🎉

Ruth said “Truly you guys do amazing work and I don’t know what West Cheshire would do without you - my dad was a tough guy to please but he always felt well cared for and spoke incredibly highly of the care he received at the hospice”.

The sun shone for the happy couple as they exchanged their vows in Edinburgh, surrounded by their family and friends and they raised an amazing £1600 for the hospice in lieu of gifts.

Thank you both for your support and we wish you all the very best for your future ❤️
