Restoration Completed🇹🇨

✨We are proud to announce the successful completion of the cleaning and restoration of the West Row Men of War Memorial ahead of Remembrance Day 2026.

It has been an absolute privilege to have been entrusted with the restoration of such an important and treasured memorial. From the outset, our aim was to carefully preserve and enhance this lasting tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We are delighted with the results. The memorial has cleaned up beautifully and now stands proud and prominent once again, looking its very best for the local community and visitors alike.

As part of the restoration, the inscriptions have been carefully repainted and restored, ensuring the names and memories of those commemorated remain clearly visible for future generations.

We were also delighted to meet a number of local residents during the course of the project, many of whom took the time to share kind words and positive feedback regarding the workmanship. Their support and appreciation have been greatly valued and are a testament to the importance of preserving local heritage.❤️💙

As Remembrance Day 2026 approaches, we hope the restored memorial will continue to serve as a fitting place of reflection, remembrance, and respect for all those who gave so much in service to their country.

Thinking of adding more wording to a loved one’s headstone?
A small addition can mean so much.

As time passes, many families choose to add further wording to an existing memorial — whether to honour another loved one or include a few meaningful words.

We’re here to guide you through the process with care.

We’ll help with the wording, provide a clear layout for your approval, and take care of all arrangements with the cemetery.

The memorial is carefully removed, inscribed, and returned to its place — respectfully and with the utmost care.

This is usually completed within 4–6 weeks, with the memorial beautifully updated and in keeping with its original character.

This is one of the most common questions we’re asked.

As a general guide:

• Cremation plaques from £550
• Headstones from £1,595

What is included?

Our package options include the memorial, inscriptions up to 90 letters, installation, and applicable cemetery or churchyard permit fees, providing a straightforward and transparent service.

When would the price be higher?

The price may be higher if you choose a larger memorial, a different style, a memorial with polished surfaces, or an inscription finished in genuine Gold leaf rather than paint.

How easy is it to arrange?

Request a free memorial brochure, review and confirm your chosen memorial and options with us, provide the wording you would like placed on the memorial.
We will then prepare a design layout on your chosen memorial for your review and approval.
We will complete all permit applications and place the order and installation on your behalf.

🇬🇧 Today, We’re proud to commence with the restoration work on the “ West Row Men of War Memorial 🇬🇧

With Remembrance Day approaching later this year, it’s an honour for us to begin carefully restoring this important local tribute.

We begin by gently washing the surface, followed by hand-scrubbing using hard-bristled brushes to lift deeper dirt without damaging the stone.

Next, we apply a specialist D2 biological solution across the memorial to treat organic growth such as algae and lichen, ensuring a longer-lasting clean.

Once treated, the surface is rinsed down before we move on to the final stage — carefully sanding the stone to restore a clean, even finish.

We’re committed to preserving the dignity and memory this memorial represents, ready for it to stand proudly once again this Remembrance Day.

We are proud to announce, that we have been appointed to carry out the restoration of the Men of War Memorial in Clare, Suffolk.

Works will commence on 10th August, with completion scheduled in time for Remembrance Day 2026.
The project will include a full clean, careful stone restoration, repainting of all inscriptions, and minor repairs to preserve the memorial with the respect it deserves.

It is a privilege to be entrusted with maintaining such an important part of the community’s heritage.
Upon completion, this memorial will join our growing list of restored war memorials we are honoured to have preserved for future generations.

Today is a proud one for me and Hermitage Memorials🙏

Feeling so very happy and honoured with today’s achievement.

Today I was approached by one of the largest and most respected memorial masons in the area, asking if I would consider working alongside them, installing and restoring headstones.

To even be considered by a company of that level is something I don’t take lightly.

When I first started Hermitage Memorials, success meant something very different.
Like most, I thought it was about money, growth, and getting ahead. But over the years — through the long days, the setbacks, the uncertainty, and the constant push to build something from the ground up — my idea of success has changed.

Today, success looks like this.❤️

Getting Hermitage Memorials recognised. Being trusted.
Being called upon by people who have built a name and reputation in this industry.

It hasn’t been easy getting here, and there were times I questioned whether it would all come together. But moments like this and the passion I continue to have helping families, remind me why I kept going.
