Moment From Teaching This Week...
Something struck me in class this morning — a reminder of how teaching is never a one‑way street. It’s a conversation. A dance. A constant exchange of energy and understanding.
I speak, I guide, I offer direction… and my students respond.
Not always with words, but with movement, breath, attention, curiosity. Their bodies tell me everything:
when a cue lands, when it doesn’t, when I need to refine, soften, or rephrase.
We don’t all learn in the same way.
Some students translate words into movement with ease.
Some need to see the shape before they feel it.
Others blend both — listening, watching, sensing.
What I love — and what I was reminded of this week — is how teaching invites me to evolve.
To adjust my language.
To shift my words.
To find clearer pathways into the body so everyone can hear and respond in their own way.
Teaching is a conversation.
And every class teaches me just as much as I teach them.
Thank you to all my wonderful students who show up week in, week out—your presence makes this conversation so meaningful.
