bove and beyond, the extra mile, with extra happiness. We can help with things for ward areas - like games or equipment. We can help visitors to our services, with things like play areas and comfy chairs. We can help lift people, boost recovery and create memories – from activity groups to service user trips or funding for community groups. We’re super proud of our linked charities who are Creative Minds, Spirt in Mind and the Mental Health Museum. Together we’re pulling out all the stops. See, there’s nowt we like more than working hand in hand with our local communities. We are delighted to announce that our Barnsley Carers Service has been awarded £250 by EyUp NHS Charity South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust , through its Family, Friends and Carers Matter Funding Forum to deliver art therapy sessions as part of our Time to Breathe project.

This generous funding will allow us to build on the success of last year's popular Time to Breathe programme, which gave carers across Barnsley the opportunity to take a well-earned break and focus on their wellbeing through a range of relaxation activities, including yoga, massage and tai chi.

Art therapy provides a creative and supportive way for people to express their thoughts and feelings, often without needing to find the words. It has been shown to help reduce stress, improve mental wellbeing and create opportunities to connect with others who understand the challenges and rewards of caring for a loved one.

Thanks to this funding, we will be able to commission a qualified Art Therapist to deliver three two-hour sessions at our Barnsley office.
