Sorry to all the strawberry ends I wasted up until this moment!

This strawberry syrup recipe literally couldn’t be easier, thank you .birtwhistle 🤗

Part 1 - Make syrup

1. Cut tops off some fresh strawberries and weigh them
2. Add to a clean glass jar with equal weight of sugar
3. Add lid and SHAKE
4. Store in the fridge. Shake each day until you have syrup (mine took 6 days)

Meanwhile - Part 2 - Make Kombucha (we used green tea kombucha)

7 ish days later - Part 3 - Make Haribo Strawbs Kombucha

1. Strain syrup
2. Split between 2 or 3 fermentation safe bottles depending on how much you have
3. Add 2-3 torn basil leaves into each bottle (sounds strange but it just works)
4. Top with fresh kombucha and leave at room temperature for 5-7 days (mine took 6 but it was heatwave season)
5. Open carefully (not like me) and enjoy in the sunshine!

Who else thinks this is the kind of stuff we should learn in school? 🤔🤔🤔

Here’s my fave 3 👇🏻

1. Hair rinse or hair shine spray

Acidic Kombucha can be used to balance pH of your scalp, remove a build up of dead cells and add a good shine to your hair, can also possibly help promote hair growth too

Dilute with water and essential oils and do a patch test! I recommend mixing it up in a bottle and using just before your shower

2. Use it to make a fizzy fruity batch

Best for Kombucha that hasn’t gone tooooo far!

Mix with a spoon of sugar and your favourite fruit crushed up or some fresh juice in a fermentation safe bottle and leave to ferment for 3-5 days at room temp

3. Pickle something

Red onions. Go for the red onions!

Sliced thin and added to a jar with your tart kombucha for 24 hours (if you like them crunchy like me) and then add them to EVERYTHING salad based YUM

Add garlic and cumin seeds, and add to your next pizza or cheese on toast, they’re just SO GOOD!

4. Ice cream

Yep, you heard me right, there’s a whole video on that on my feed 😇
