What have I missed!? šŸ‘€šŸ˜…

It’s been a little while since I posted and spent time on here so I thought I’d offer a little update.

A warm hello & welcome to those of you who found me while I was away- thank you for the follow and for being here šŸ™šŸ½

I chose to take a break from IG for a few reasons- maybe a post for another time- but mainly I noticed being here just wasn’t where my energy wanted to be.

Instead of trying to force myself, I chose to practise what I preach and put the app down for a while.

What that pause has gifted me is greater clarity about my boundaries when it comes to showing up here, as well as the unrealistic expectations I had been placing on myself.

I’m also learning how to meet the part of me that overthinks being seen with more compassion.

During the summer months I’ve been continuing to see clients, creating and publishing weekly episodes of Back To Self, and working on exciting future projects and offerings for both clients and therapists.

I sense it’s that ā€˜back to school’ energy in the air that has pulled me back to Instagram now.

Perhaps this time of year is also bringing something into focus for you- something you’re ready to understand, change or receive support with.

Do get in touch if you’ve been thinking about starting therapy. We can have a chat about whether working with me feels aligned.

If you’re seeing this, I’d love to know…
What, if anything, is this new-season energy stirring in you?

With love,

On Saturday, I spent the day with my Soulshine Sister Circle for our second in-person retreat 🌻

As always, I left feeling incredibly grateful and connected. Not just because of the conversations we shared, but because of something I’ve noticed whenever women come together in spaces like this.

I don’t actually think the greatest gift these spaces offer is clarity. Clarity often comes afterwards. I think the greatest gift is permission.

Permission to admit you’ve changed.

Permission to realise that the life you want doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s to be meaningful.

Permission to acknowledge that perhaps you’ve outgrown a version of yourself, even if you don’t yet know exactly who you’re becoming next.

There’s something incredibly powerful about hearing another woman speak honestly about the life she’s longing to create. Not because her story becomes yours, but because it reminds you that you’re allowed to have your own.

It gently expands what’s possible and reminds you that you don’t need to have everything figured out before imagining a different future.

I think that’s why I’ve fallen so deeply in love with holding spaces like these. Not because I believe I have the answers, but because I’ve witnessed what happens when women feel safe enough to become curious again.

There is so much wisdom in the room already.
Sometimes we simply need the right environment for it to rise to the surface.

The retreat happened over the Lion’s Gate Portal, a time many people associate with vision, expansion and reconnecting with ourselves.

Whether you follow the astrology or simply enjoy using these moments as invitations to pause, it felt like a fitting reminder that growth doesn’t always happen through doing more.

Sometimes it begins by creating enough space to hear what’s already waiting within us.

That feeling stayed with me long after Saturday, and it became the reason I recorded this week’s episode of Back to Self.

It’s a shorter episode than usual, but one that I hope offers you a little of that same space.

There was a time in my own healing journey where I genuinely believed the next answer was still out there somewhere.

Another book/podcast/workshop/perspective.

I’d consume something that really resonated with me and leave feeling inspired. Hopeful. As though something had shifted.

For a few days, I’d carry that feeling with me. I’d notice things differently, think differently and feel excited about what I’d learnt.

Then, slowly, life would carry on.

Old patterns would quietly begin to reappear, and before long I’d find myself searching for the next thing that might help.

Looking back, I don’t think I was only searching for more knowledge.

I think I was searching for that feeling again.

Over time, I began to realise there were seasons where the most supportive thing I could do wasn’t to keep searching.

It was to pause. To let what I’d already learnt settle.

To give myself the time, space and rest for those insights to gently become part of the way I lived, rather than immediately reaching for something new.

I’ve had many moments like that throughout my journey since, and each one has deepened my trust in those quieter seasons.

This week’s episode of Back to Self, ā€œWhy You Still Feel Stuck in Your Healing Journey - Even When You Know Your Patterns,ā€ grew from reflecting on experiences like these and wondering how much easier it has become, in today’s world, to stay in the search rather than the pause.

30/07/2026

I’ve been thinking a lot about the expectations we place around meditation.

A practice that can offer us a way to return to ourselves can so easily become another place where we decide we’re not doing enough or getting it right.

And I wonder how often we take the same expectations we’re already carrying through life and bring them into the very practices that are supposed to give us some space from them.

The perfectionism. The comparison. The belief that there is a right way to do something and, if that way doesn’t work for us, we must be the problem.

Meditation has become such an important and supportive part of my life, but the longer I practise, the more I question the idea that a ā€œgoodā€ meditation needs to look a certain way.

We are all arriving at meditation as completely different human beings, with different brains, bodies, nervous systems, histories and lives.

Meditation is not one size fits all.

So perhaps it makes sense that the way we practise, and what supports us within that practice, might look different too.

I don’t believe our spiritual practices should require us to leave our humanness at the door before we’re allowed to access them.

We aren’t the same person every day. Our energy changes. Our capacity changes. Our needs change. So perhaps our practice gets to meet us differently too.

What supports you today might not be what you need tomorrow, and what brings someone else back to themselves might look completely different from what brings you back to you.

This is one of the reasons I loved sitting down with Mima - The HedgeRose Healer for this week’s episode of Back to Self.

šŸŽ§ Episode: You’re Not Bad at Meditation: ADHD, Trauma, Perfectionism & Finding What Works

We explore meditation through a much more human lens, and Mima brings so much wisdom and nuance to a conversation I think many of us need to hear.

Whether meditation is already part of your life or you’ve spent years wondering why you can’t seem to make it work for you, I really hope you’ll give this one a listen.

What part of you is ready to take up a little (or a lot) more space? ā˜€ļø

As we move into Leo season, perhaps there’s an invitation to notice the parts of ourselves we express freely, the parts we’ve learnt to minimise and the parts that might be waiting for a little more permission from us.

This week on Back to Self, I’m exploring the gorgeous, radiant and sometimes dramatic energy of Leo, alongside a bonus episode on the spiritual law of integrity and what it might mean to live in closer relationship with who we truly are.

šŸŽ§ Episodes: Back to Self in Leo Season & Spiritual Law of Integrity: Living Our Truth, are available now on Spotify & Apple Podcasts (or wherever you get your podcasts), using the link in my bio.

I’d recommend beginning with the Leo season episode before moving on to the bonus if you feel called to explore a little deeper.

Come and listen when you’re ready ā˜€ļø

One of the things I find most fascinating about tarot is this...

The card never changes.
But I do.

The same card I’ve worked with before can speak to me completely differently six months later because I’m seeing it through the lens of new experiences, new challenges and a different version of myself.

I think that’s such a beautiful reminder that self-reflection isn’t something we ever ā€œfinishā€.

We’re always growing.

Always noticing something new.

That’s one of the many things Emma and I explore in this week’s podcast, and I’d love to hear what resonates with you if you give it a listen.

Thank you Emma for joining me for this gorgeous chat! šŸ™šŸ½šŸ©·

10/07/2026

For me, it’s a topic that feels almost impossible to ignore at the moment.

Whether you use it every day, occasionally, or haven’t really explored it at all, AI is becoming an increasingly significant part of the world we live in.

And with that comes questions.

Depending on who you ask, AI is seen as revolutionary, exciting, concerning, empowering, or something to be approached with great caution.

Questions around privacy, ethics, environmental impact, psychology, human connection and the future of mental health are becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.

I’ve found myself returning to these questions time and time again over the past few months.

As a therapist, through conversations with clients, professional training and research.

And simply as a person living in a world where AI is becoming more and more woven into everyday life, bringing with it questions I’ve found myself reflecting on too.

The more I’ve reflected on it, the more I’ve realised that this isn’t simply about technology.
It’s about us. About how we navigate change.Ā

How we make decisions.
How we seek support.
How we stay connected to ourselves and to one another in a world that’s evolving incredibly quickly.

I don’t believe these questions have simple answers. Perhaps this isn’t about deciding whether AI is ā€˜good’ or ā€˜bad’.

Perhaps it’s about creating space to reflect on the role we want it to play in our lives, our relationships and our wellbeing, whilst remaining open to the complexity that comes with any significant shift.

That’s exactly what I explore in this week’s episode of Back to Self.

Not to tell you what to think. Not to persuade you towards a particular viewpoint.

But to open up what I hope is a thoughtful, balanced discussion around one of the biggest topics many of us are beginning to navigate.

I’d love to know...
What’s one question you find yourself asking about AI at the moment?

And if this has sparked your curiosity, I’d love to invite you to listen to this week’s episode. I can’t wait to hear what thoughts it brings up for you.

03/07/2026

One of the things I’ve noticed over the years is that holidays can offer us something far more valuable than a break from work, a change of scenery, or a few days of sunshine.

They can offer us perspective.

We’ve stepped away from the routines, responsibilities and expectations that shape our everyday lives.

And I don’t think the amount of distance really matters.

Sometimes it might be a holiday abroad, a staycation, or it might simply be a few days where life looks and feels a little different from normal.

What matters is the space that distance can create.

Because when we’re in the middle of our everyday lives, we’re often too busy living them to really see them.

We’re focused on the next thing that needs doing.

The next responsibility, commitment, or the person who needs something from us.

And then we step away. The pace changes. The noise softens.

And suddenly we begin to notice things that were there all along.

Perhaps we notice how tired we are, a desire we’ve been putting to one side, or perhaps we reconnect with a part of ourselves that hasn’t had much space recently.

A few years ago, I started approaching holidays a little differently.

Rather than seeing them purely as an opportunity to get away from everyday life, I began seeing them as an opportunity to reconnect with myself within it.

I wanted to create enough space to hear myself more clearly.

It’s a practice I’ve continued ever since, and it’s the inspiration behind this week’s podcast episode.

In the episode, I’m exploring how holidays can become an opportunity to return to ourselves and sharing some of the ways I’ve learned to use that space more intentionally over the years.

šŸŽ§ The new episode is available now via the link in my bio.

I’d love to know...

Have you ever returned from a holiday with a new perspective on yourself or your life?

01/07/2026

Before I welcome a new month, I always like to pause and reflect on the one that’s just been. It’s often where I notice what life has quietly been trying to show me…

As I reflected on June, I realised it felt like a month of meeting different parts of myself.

The part that could finally exhale on holiday without worrying my business would fall apart.

The perfectionist who wanted every decision and action to be the ā€˜right’ one.

The patient part who gently reminded me that not everything unfolds to our preferred timeline.

The playful part who still gets ridiculously excited about a Pixar film.

The part of me that felt nourished by community & friendship.

The part of me who is continually reminded that I don’t stop growing simply because I’m the one holding the space.

And perhaps the part I’ve spent the most time with this month… the nurturing part.

It seemed to meet me everywhere.

In supervision, where The Empress invited me to reflect on nourishment, care and the promise of growth.

In Soulshine Sister Circle, where we explored the Mother archetype together and each woman offered a perspective that expanded my own.

And in CPD, learning more about matriscence and the profound psychological transition of motherhood- a reminder of just how much compassion this season of life deserves.

It’s funny how themes emerge when we make space to look back.

One of the things I love most about parts work is that it reminds me there isn’t a ā€œfinishedā€ version of us waiting to be reached.

There are simply different parts of us waiting to discover they’re welcome.

Because healing isn’t about reaching a place where every part of us is perfect, resolved or easy to live with. It’s about meeting each part with a little more curiosity… and a little more compassion than we did before.

Looking back, I don’t think June changed me.
I think it simply helped me notice myself more clearly.

And perhaps that’s enough.

I’d love to know- when you look back on your June, which part of yourself have you been getting to know a little better?

26/06/2026

One of the things I love about reflecting on the astrological seasons is how each one seems to build on the last.

Gemini season may have encouraged us to connect, communicate, learn and become curious.

Cancer season feels a little different.

For me, it’s the point where we pause and ask:

What have I learnt about myself?

What am I feeling?

What do I need?

Because before Leo season encourages us to express ourselves more fully and step forward with confidence, Cancer season gives us an opportunity to strengthen the foundations underneath it all.

And I think that’s something many of us need more often than we realise.

In this week’s episode of Back to Self, I’m exploring Cancer season through a psycho-spiritual lens, including themes of home, belonging, emotional wellbeing and nurturing.

I’ve also released a bonus episode on the Spiritual Law of Compassion, which feels like a beautiful companion to this season.

You’ll find the link to the podcast in my bio.
