🌟 Meet the Team – Carrie🌟

👋 Hello, I'm one of the General Practice Nurses at Latchford Medical Centre, where I've had the pleasure of working for the past eight years. 💙

I really enjoy getting to know my patients and supporting them to take control of their health. 🌿 Much of my role involves caring for people with long-term conditions such as asthma, COPD, diabetes, and heart disease ❤️, helping them to manage their conditions and stay as healthy as possible.

💉 I also carry out cervical screening (smears), vaccinations, and a range of health checks, and I'm always happy to offer advice and support on improving general health and wellbeing. As a Non-Medical Prescriber 💊, I can assess, treat, and prescribe medications where appropriate, allowing me to provide comprehensive care during appointments.

🤝 I pride myself on being approachable, caring, and taking the time to listen. My aim is to make every patient feel comfortable, supported, and involved in decisions about their health, so they leave their appointment feeling informed and confident.

🌳 Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends ❤️, keeping active 🏃‍♀️, and making the most of the outdoors whenever I can.

Yesterday afternoon, Latchford Medical Centre was closed for Protected Learning Time (PLT), so our team could take part in CPR training.

CPR is an important life-saving skill. Regular training helps our staff stay up to date and ready to act quickly if someone has a medical emergency.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we were closed. Training like this helps us provide safe, high-quality care for all our patients.

As we head into the summer holidays, some of our team will be taking well-deserved annual leave. This means there may be fewer routine appointments available on certain days over the coming weeks.

We will continue to prioritise patients with urgent or medically necessary concerns, but you may experience a longer wait for routine appointments such as medication reviews, health checks and follow-up appointments.

You can help us by:
💊 Visiting your local pharmacy for advice and treatment for minor illnesses where appropriate.
📞 Using NHS 111 for urgent medical advice if we are fully booked.
💻 Using our online services (where available) for non-urgent enquiries and administrative requests.
🩺 Requesting a same-day appointment only if your problem genuinely cannot wait.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to provide safe, high-quality care while supporting the wellbeing of our team.
