I can tell you what Nurture is all day long.

I can tell you about continuity, WhatsApp support, birth planning, infant feeding support and everything in between.

But that’s only half the story.

The other half is how it feels to have someone beside you. Someone who knows your story, helps you understand your options, reminds you to trust yourself and stays with you through the parts that aren’t always talked about.

These are a few words from women who’ve experienced Nurture for themselves.

Thank you for trusting me with such a precious chapter of your lives. I’ll never stop being grateful ☺️

The milk was never the whole story.

Breastfeeding is about hormones.

Confidence.

Safety.

Healing.

Identity.

Relationships.

Expectations.

Trauma.

Joy.

Exhaustion.

Love.

That’s why support matters.

🤍 Happy World Breastfeeding Week ♥️

If today’s felt a bit overwhelming, my DMs are always open. ❤️

Sometimes the most valuable support isn’t having someone with all the answers.

It’s having someone who’ll sit with you while you work through the questions.

Pregnancy can feel noisy. Everyone has an opinion. Every appointment can bring another decision. Every Google search can leave you more overwhelmed than when you started.

If I can be the person who helps quieten some of that noise, then I’m doing exactly what I set out to do.

The last couple of weeks have been full of babies, birth and breastfeeding, exactly as they should be.

With two of my continuity families now settling into life with their little ones, I have a couple of spaces available.

If you’re pregnant and want a midwife by your side throughout your journey, not just at appointments, but every step of the way I’d love to hear from you.

Welcome to the world, beautiful Max!

But this post is really for your mum.

The last few weeks asked so much of you.

Daily monitoring. Difficult conversations. The emotional weight of balancing risks and benefits, making decisions, and carrying a responsibility that at times felt overwhelming. You questioned, you reflected, you advocated, and through it all, you stayed true to what mattered most to you.

You and Dad faced every conversation together, always coming back to what felt right for your family.

And then, after the gentlest helping hand, your body took over.

In a cosy, dark birth room, with your playlist playing, your projector glowing, your birth combs and a little Entonox, you welcomed Max into the world in the most beautiful way. Not where you’d first imagined, but in a birth that was calm, empowering and so completely yours.

I’ll never forget the relief and pride on your face afterwards. After everything you’d carried over those final weeks, you did it.

Max, you have arrived into a family where you have been loved, protected and fought for from the very beginning. You have the most incredible mum, and two parents who have already shown you what it means to make decisions with love, courage and total belief in each other!

Welcome to the world, little one.

I honestly couldn’t be prouder of this incredible mama.

Welcome to the world, beautiful Xavier. 🤍

This birth was such a powerful reminder that a planned caesarean doesn’t have to mean giving up the things that matter to you. Every decision was made with intention.

She chose the date of her caesarean, giving her body the time she felt comfortable with to go into labour naturally, and when that day arrived, she walked into theatre feeling at peace with her decision.

She had a lotus birth. Vaginal seeding. Delayed her routine antibiotics until after Xavier was born because that was important to her. Xavier was weighed on his tummy to keep him calm, had uninterrupted skin-to-skin in theatre, and found his way to the breast before they had even left.

None of these things happened by chance. They happened because she knew her options, asked the questions, and advocated for the birth she wanted.

What a privilege it’s been to support not just as a midwife, but as your friend. Watching you become a family of four has been so incredibly special.

Congratulations Mama. You absolutely smashed it.

For the women who thought this was just how pregnancy was supposed to feel.
