A-level and other results are out, and many young people will be thinking about their next steps.
If you know a young person aged 16 to 24 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), a supported internship could help them develop the skills, confidence and experience needed for the world of work.
Supported internships combine learning with hand-on experience in a real workplace, supported by a job coach and tailored to the individual's needs.
✅ Spend most of your time in a work setting
✅ Build valuable workplace skills and confidence
✅ Receive tailored support from a job coach
✅ Prepare for future employment opportunities
If you're a young person, parent or carer exploring post-16 options, our Local Offer webpages have information on:
• What supported internships are
• Who can apply
• The benefits and what to expect
• How to find out more and take the next steps
Whether you're looking at opportunities for this year or starting to plan ahead, it's never too early to explore the options available.
