Helping women thrive through the perimenopause and beyond.

31/08/2026

You may not find perfectly polished videos here, but you will find honest, evidence-based women’s healthcare.

I’m an experienced GP and British Menopause Society registered menopause specialist, and I’ve supported hundreds of women through perimenopause, menopause and a wide range of women’s health concerns.

When you come to see me, I’ll take the time to listen to your story and understand what you’re experiencing. You won’t be treated as a list of symptoms or given a one-size-fits-all answer.

Together, we’ll look at your hormones alongside your overall health, medical history, family history, lifestyle and what matters most to you.

I’ll explain the evidence clearly and honestly, and help you understand your options.

Time to Pause is a small, personal and CQC-registered menopause and women’s health clinic, created to give women the time, expertise and continuity of care they deserve.

If you’ve been struggling with your hormones or feel that you haven’t been properly heard, you’re very welcome to get in touch. I’ll do my best to help you feel informed, supported and listened to.

Isn’t the female body amazing? ✨

The brain and our hormones are closely connected, so it’s perhaps no surprise that the hormonal changes of perimenopause and menopause can affect memory, concentration and mental clarity.

Brain fog is real. You are not imagining it and you are certainly not alone. For most women, these cognitive changes are temporary as the brain adapts to a new hormonal environment.

Follow me for more clear, evidence-based information about menopause and women’s health.

Lots of new followers recently, so I thought I’d properly introduce myself 👋

I’m Dr. Jacques - an NHS GP, British Menopause Society Registered Menopause Specialist, and someone who’s currently navigating her own perimenopause journey too.

My career started with a degree in Biomedical Sciences, which gave me a deep appreciation for research and evidence-based medicine. I was close to pursuing a career in cancer research, but I realised my passion was bringing science into clinical practice and making a difference directly to people’s lives.

After completing graduate-entry medicine, I followed my interest in women’s health, gaining additional qualifications in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Family Planning. Alongside becoming a GP trainer, I developed a specialist interest in diabetes and metabolic health before undertaking further study to become a British Menopause Society Registered Menopause Specialist.

I’m passionate about translating the latest research into practical, evidence-based advice that helps women make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

Away from work, I’m a mum to two wonderful boys, a keen gardener, serial house-project starter, and unapologetic cat lover. 🌱🏡🐈

Most importantly, I’m here to listen, support, educate, and help women feel confident navigating this stage of life.

If you’re new here, I’d love to know what brought you to my page. Let me know below ⬇️💜

“Because women deserve more than 10 minutes.”

After 18 years working in the NHS, including 14 years as a GP, I’ve developed a deep understanding of just how complex and individual women’s health can be. I’m passionate about supporting women, but I’ve come to realise that a standard 10-minute appointment is rarely enough, for me as a clinician, and certainly for you as a patient.

Women don’t present as textbook cases. Symptoms are often interconnected, evolving, and unique to each individual. Every journey is personal, and you deserve the time and space to explore that fully.

That’s why I offer longer, unhurried appointments of up to 45 minutes for menopause and perimenopause consultations, alongside shorter GP appointments for more specific concerns, always with a holistic approach.

You will always see me, ensuring true continuity of care. Where appropriate, I can arrange further investigations, including blood tests, and offer screening such as private cervical smears.

If you’re looking for a more personal, supportive approach, where your doctor is just the other side of an email, I’d be delighted to help.

I offer online consultations across the UK, as well as in-person appointments from my beautiful clinic in the Warwickshire countryside.

PCOS is getting a new name - and it actually matters.

“Polycystic o***y syndrome” doesn’t reflect the full condition. Many people don’t even have cysts, and the name has contributed to confusion, delayed diagnosis, and stigma.

The proposed name:Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS)

✔️ Recognises it as a multisystem condition
✔️ Highlights hormonal + metabolic involvement
✔️ Aims to improve diagnosis and care

This change comes from a global consensus involving experts, patients, and organisations worldwide.

This isn’t just rebranding, it’s about better understanding and better care.
