💚 THE POWER OF 20! 💜

We’re very excited to be taking part in the Power of 20 Challenge, celebrating 20 years of Dignity in Care!

We’ve got lots planned here at Nightingale Court over the next few weeks, with our residents and team coming together for some fun activities while raising money for the National Dignity Council.

We’ll be making 20 cake pops, having a Dress in Purple Day and ending it all with our very own Nightingale Court’s Got Talent! 🎤💜

🌱 Let’s Get Growing! 🌱

We’ve been getting our green fingers out this afternoon for Gardening Club! 🪴

Our residents helped to plant a lovely selection of fresh herbs and greens, including basil, mint, rosemary, thyme, parsley, coriander, dill, chives, rocket, spinach, lettuce and garden cress🌿

Everything has now been gently watered and tucked away in the greenhouse, ready for us to keep an eye on over the coming weeks. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we spot our first little shoots! 🌱

And once they’re ready, we’re hoping to put some of our home-grown herbs to good use in our Cooking Club! 👩‍🍳🌿

🎶☕ Tea for Two! ☕🎶

What an absolutely fantastic afternoon we had with Tea for Two today! 💃🎤

From start to finish, they had everyone thoroughly entertained with brilliant songs, lots of props and plenty of fun with such a wonderfully interactive performance. Our residents absolutely loved getting involved! Singing along, joining in and enjoying every minute of it! 🥰🎵

There was such a lovely atmosphere throughout the home, and it was wonderful to see just how much our residents enjoyed themselves. Tea for Two certainly know how to put on a show! 👏✨

A huge thank you for such a fun-filled afternoon. We loved having you and can’t wait to welcome you back! 💕

🎂 Celebrating Together 🎈

Today was all about enjoying some birthday celebrations! 🥳

The day began with cards and presents 🎁, followed by a lovely meal shared with his wife, who also lives here with us at Nightingale Court❤️

We finished off the celebrations, of course, with birthday cake 🎂 and plenty of birthday wishes! 🎉

We hope you enjoyed being celebrated today and all the lovely moments that came with it.

🥔 National Potato Day! 🥔

Today we celebrated National Potato Day by making our very own homemade crisps using potatoes grown right here at Nightingale Court!

We started by harvesting our potatoes from the garden, before bringing them inside, slicing them nice and thin and soaking them in cold water. 🌱🥔

Next, we laid them all out to dry and carefully patted away the excess water before frying them until lovely and crisp!

Once they were ready, it was time for the seasonings, with paprika, garlic, salt and pepper to choose from. And of course, we finished with a crisp taste test! 😋

From our garden to our plates — you can’t get much more homemade than that! 🌱🥔
