Setting up something that’s supposed to help is very difficult and I won’t dim it down me and Vick have already faced numoerous hurdles but you see this right here this is what makes it worthwhile! 🤗
Behind the scenes the hours of training, daysss of research and back and forth messaging all for one solid goal! Helping Rem, for those who know Vicky you’d of seen the struggles young rem has faced, and here she is OUTSIDE flat footed and playing care free with her first unconditional non judgemental friend this alone is worth every single stressful situation and hurdle we face! ❤️
We believe in our mission and we WILL make a difference!

The dog then went onto become a therapy dog… I’ll let this amazing story speak for itself 🤗🥰

Lucy Humphrey was given just five years to live when lupus triggered complete kidney failure.

While visiting a beach with her partner in 2021, her Doberman, Indie, kept repeatedly rushing over to a stranger sitting roughly 100 yards down the shore.

Lucy and her partner finally walked over to excuse their dog's persistent behavior.

That stranger turned out to be Katie James. As the two women chatted, Katie happened to mention that she had recently signed up for the organ donor register.

Following medical tests, doctors discovered she was a one in 22 million match for Lucy—a degree of compatibility that a surgeon described as nearly unprecedented.

The transplant went ahead in October 2022 at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. Katie later recalled it as the most rewarding thing she had ever done.

The two women remain close friends today, and Indie has since trained as a therapy dog, bringing comfort to hospitals and care homes.

✨ A huge step towards our dream! ✨

Today we've officially submitted our funding application for Therapawtic Animal Assisted Care 🐾

All sessions will be completely free of charge. We believe everyone deserves access to support, regardless of their financial circumstances. Too many families and individuals are unable to afford additional support, and we never want cost to be a barrier.

This project has been inspired by our own lived experiences and the countless conversations we've had with families, carers and individuals who feel there simply isn't enough support available.

If we're successful, this funding will allow us to provide animal-assisted wellbeing sessions, walk-and-talk groups and inclusive community activities across the West Midlands.

Our aim is to create safe, welcoming spaces where people can connect, build confidence, improve their wellbeing and know they don't have to face life's challenges alone.

Whatever the outcome, we truly believe this is the start of something special, and we'll continue working hard to make a positive difference.

There are times when Luna turns back into a complete puppy, full of excitement, mischief and endless energy. 🐾

But then there are moments that remind us exactly why she's being trained to do what she does.

Yesterday, Luna seemed to know that things weren't going well. She kept watch over Remy the entire time we were at the park and waited patiently as other children passed by.

Our walk back to the car became incredibly difficult. Remy needed to be restrained to keep her safe while she screamed with all the strength she had and began hitting herself.

In the middle of all the noise, upset and chaos, Luna's crazy puppy stage simply disappeared. She stood patiently by our side and walked so calmly next to us, never leaving our side.

People often only see the difficult moments, but they don't always see the patience, understanding and unconditional love that sits quietly beside us.

We're so proud of you, Luna. You might still be a pup, but you're already making such a huge difference❤️🐾

What an incredible start to our journey ❤️

Seeing people come together, share their experiences, support one another and simply enjoy having a safe space to talk was amazing. It has shown us exactly why we started this in the first place.

Our vision is growing, and so are our plans for the future. We can't wait to bring even more people together, whether that's for a chat, to share experiences, to offer support, or simply to remind one another that nobody has to do this alone.

Sadly, we're living in a world where so many people don't understand, or don't want to understand, the challenges that some families face. We truly believe that together we can make a difference and create a community built on kindness, understanding and acceptance.

Luna is already showing us the incredibly positive impact she has on people. After watching Remy struggle and seeing the wonderful difference the therapy dogs at school made to her everyday life, Vicky knew exactly what she had to do. Welcoming Luna into our lives was one of the best decisions we ever made, and the difference she is making is absolutely incredible. 🐾

Thank you to every single person who has shown up, supported us and believed in what we're trying to achieve. This is only the beginning.

Myself and my amazing friend have partnered up because we truly believe that together, we can make a real difference within our community 💜

With such a lack of support in the system and so many people feeling unheard, overlooked or left to cope alone, we want to create something positive, a safe, understanding and supportive space where people feel welcomed, listened to and valued 🫶

With our shared passion, lived experiences and the incredible support of Luna 🐾, we believe we can bring comfort, connection and hope to those who need it most.

Luna has already shown us just how powerful the bond between people and animals can be, and we can’t wait to see the difference we can make together.

This is only the beginning, but we truly believe that even the smallest acts of kindness and support can create something much bigger 💫

🐾 Watching these two together melts my heart 🥹

We're using these next 5 weeks to our advantage by helping Luna get used to walking calmly alongside Remy as part of her assistance dog training. I do have to give Luna little reminders to stay close but how amazing 👏

And can we just take a moment to appreciate Remy... she's only just turned 5 years old and is already such a fantastic little dog handler. The bond they have is so special, and seeing them both learn and grow together makes me so proud ❤️🐶

🐾 A very proud moment for our girl, Luna. Awards just keep coming! 🐾

Luna has officially achieved her Bronze Assistance Dog Award! ❤️

This means she has been working to the standards needed on her journey to becoming an assistance dog to support Remy when we're out and about. Watching the bond between them grow and seeing how hard Luna works has been nothing short of incredible.

This is just the beginning of her journey. Our next goals are for Luna to be awarded in her:
🐶 Scent work to help find Remy if she wanders.
🐶 Retrieval skills, so she can pick up items Remy drops.
🐶 Deep pressure therapy, to help comfort and regulate Remy when she needs it most.

We're so incredibly proud of everything Luna has achieved so far. She has already made such a difference to our lives, and we can't wait to see what she accomplishes next.
