Nearly two whole years of spending every day together, with our garden centre trips twice a week still being a firm favourite. Always good company and plenty of laughs along the way. 🌼💚

✨Rare availability

A care slot has become available, with 3 hours per week currently available. There is also the possibility that additional hours may become available in the near future.

At Auras Care, I provide compassionate, person-centred support for people of all ages (0+), including:

💜 End-of-life care
💜 Dementia care
💜 Brain injury support
💜 Companionship and social support
💜 Respite for family carers
💜 Personalised care tailored to individual needs

Whether you’re looking for specialist support, companionship, or compassionate care for yourself or a loved one, I am here to help with kindness, dignity, and respect.

Availability like this is very rare and is often secured quickly. If you’ve been considering care for yourself or a family member, now is the perfect time to get in touch. Even if you require more than 3 hours, please don’t hesitate to contact me, as additional availability may become available soon.

🌟 Permission to post on behalf of a lovely family 🌟

A family is looking for a kind, calm and reliable carer to provide holiday cover, with the possibility of further hours becoming available when the role goes to peer forum in the next couple of days.

The support is for a young lady living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) in a lovely family home with her two children, both under the age of 3.

They are looking for someone who is patient, understanding and calm, particularly during episodes, and who is comfortable working in a busy but caring family environment. Experience around children and a willingness to work alongside the family and wider support team, including physiotherapy, would be beneficial.

Shadow shifts can be arranged to help the right person get to know the family, routines and support needs.

If you or someone you know may be interested, please get in touch for more information.

☀️ Heatwave Health Reminder ☀️

I’d like to remind everyone to take extra care during the hot weather.

Some medications can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight or affect your body’s ability to stay cool.

✅ Wear sunscreen with a high SPF
✅ Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water
✅ Avoid direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day (usually 11am–3pm)
✅ Stay indoors or in shaded areas where possible
✅ Wear light, loose-fitting clothing
✅ Check on elderly relatives, neighbours, and vulnerable friends

If you feel unwell, dizzy, or experience symptoms of heat exhaustion, seek advice and move to a cool place immediately.

Stay safe and look after yourselves in this heat🤍

💡 Did You Know?

Many people know Aura’s Care for supporting individuals living with dementia and those requiring palliative care, but that’s not all we do.

We also provide support for people living with:
🧠 Brain injuries
💚 Mental health conditions
🏡 Learning disabilities
🤝 Physical disabilities
✨ Those who simply need support to remain independent at home

Our care is tailored to each individual’s needs, helping people live safely, comfortably, and with dignity in their own homes.

If you’d like to learn more about the support we offer, we’d love to hear from you.

I’ve had a couple of questions recently about what carers can and can’t do, so I wanted to clarify something important.

Under the Care Act, carers are there to support people to live as independently as possible, not to control or restrict what they choose to do. This means that, as long as someone has the mental capacity to make their own decisions, they have the right to take risks and make choices about their own life.

Our role as carers is to provide guidance, ensure people are informed, and help keep them as safe as possible, but we cannot stop someone from doing something simply because we feel it’s not the best decision.

It’s about balancing safety with independence, dignity, and respect.
