I strongly believe that mental and physical fitness go hand in hand. To me this balance is fundamental for my health and wellbeing as well as being there and showing up for those that are important to me. Almost 8 years ago I was on the edge of taking my own life. It was a cry for help. I had a stark realization that the only person who could really save me, was me. That's not to say that there is

n't support & help out there, I took it step by step, first by being vulnerable & letting down the mask, then taking action towards change...

Now with 6 years+ experience working with thousands of people to facilitate, help, support and guide them to a healthier, happier life. Qualifications I hold include:

Advanced MI (Motivational Interviewing) practitioner
Certificated CBT trained
Level 4 Nutrition Diploma
Fully trained in Mental Health First Aid and First Aid
Sports Therapy diploma

5am training, f*cking hard core. Nah mate, it’s a compromise for priorities.

Honestly just being present, for me anyway, can be properly hard. Only by practicing do we improve anything. Believe it or not sitting still for 5 minutes a day is so challenging I find. Thats why this month inside our VS LIFE community we have set it as our Habit Maker challenge.

We humans are creatures of habits. What we do on a daily basis will determine how this mad journey we call life plays out. The power is in the compounding effect & we get to choose what we do when it comes to habits. Do you believe that things happen for a reason? When was the last time you shifted perspective on something, I’m curious, share below if you’re up for it?

Now obviously there’s a scale to how impactful that is, some things are horrendously sh*t. It takes a lot of work & help to change mindsets in those cases of course ❤️

And yet we can learn to look at things that happen as positive in some way. Agree, disagree?

Got to or GET TO?!

Words are super powerful - Swapping “got to” for “get to” shifts a mindset from obligation to opportunity. It reframes tasks from external burdens into personal privileges, which reduces stress and increases your intrinsic motivation.

I’m curious, where could you have changed ‘got to’ to ‘get to’ recently?

How to practice not loosing your sh*t (as much)PAUSE

Ironically I had to ‘pause’ a few times putting this bit of content together (hence the two different locations😂🤦‍♂️)

Essentially in my opinion we all@need to practice sitting still, 5mins a day is all I do - Meditation helps control emotions by physically altering the brain to reduce reactivity and increase rational processing. Through consistent practice, it weakens the neural pathways of the brain’s fear center while strengthening the areas responsible for logic, allowing you to pause, observe feelings without judgment, and respond intentionally. [thats a copy & paste via AI yet it’s legit 😜]

Very much in two minds with posting this. I know my intentions are from love and so I listened to that.

The other week I spent an evening with a large room of Dads & Lads who all chose to be there. Every one of these men seriously pushing the comfort to listen & learn about the biggest killer of our age group.

Honestly, I was worried that attending might be triggering. A decade ago I was experiencing severe suicidal thoughts which took me to the very edge. Everyone knows someone that has ended their own lives. It’s devastating.

delivered a super impactful & useful workshop. An opportunity to flex the listening reflex which by default for us men isn’t natural - we want to fix, find solutions & just crack on with s***
(I’ve shared the listening wheel, something they use & we got to practice).

The recent campaign by provides a perspective that so many of us men can relate to. It’s proper f****** powerful (I’ve taken a clip here but search for it & watch it all).

I’m proud to be part of this inspiring community & my hope is that many other men’s communities follow suit.
