Congratulations to Angela, our Carer of the Month for June 2026! πŸ‘πŸ’™ Angela has been recognised for her professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to providing high-quality care. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the people she supports receive compassionate, person-centred care. What makes this recognition even more special is the story behind it. (we will be celebrating her colleague soon.)

Angela works alongside another carer supporting the same client. During their individual clinical supervisions, both carers independently asked if the other could be recognised for their hard work. Neither knew the other had made the very same request, and both wished to remain anonymous in their praise.

This genuine appreciation for one another speaks volumes about the respect they share and the positive working relationship they have built. It is a wonderful example of teamwork, humility, and the supportive culture we strive to create.

As their clinical lead shared πŸ‘‡
"I would like to take a moment to recognise and commend two members of the team for their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to providing high-quality care."

Congratulations, Angela, and thank you for everything you do. We are incredibly proud to have you as part of our team! πŸ’™πŸŽ‰

Care First 24 is incredibly proud to have been the first care provider to meet the recommendations of the Strategy to Enable Social Care Placements for Student Nurses and Nursing Associations.

Jayne Easterbrook, Learning & Development Director, Care First 24, commented "As a complex homecare provider, enabling practice learning in people’s homes, in our view, is essential to understanding high-quality person-centred care." By developing a relationship with our local nursing education provider, we can now support students across nursing programmes to undergo their practice learning with their clinical leads and care professionals, building trust and understanding.

✨ ✨

Here at Care First 24 we have a fully committed and dedicated clinical and care team who always go above and beyond to provide the best possible care every day.

Laura, our Paediatric Clinical Lead, is no exception, and recently exceeded expectations to ensure one of the children she looks after, was made comfortable during the recent heatwave. A colleague commented:

β€œLaura put in multiple requests to charities over the last week to see if she can get one of our children an air conditioning unit.

Parents were worried about their child getting too hot, and the carers were also struggling in the heat of the bedroom.

Although she didn't manage to get an aircon unit, she did manage to get them a charity-funded shark fan!

This really shows how much she cares, taking time out of her busy day to try to sort this for a family! Thank you Laura!” πŸ’™

πŸ€— Today is ! πŸ€—

A hug is such a simple gesture, but it can make a world of difference. Today, Hug Holiday reminds us to reach out to those who may need a little extra kindness – especially elderly relatives, neighbours, friends who live alone, or anyone who may be feeling isolated or unwell.

πŸ’‘ Did you know that hugs can help reduce stress, lower blood pressure, boost your mood, and even support your immune system? Sometimes the smallest act of kindness can have the biggest impact.

Why not celebrate today by:
πŸ’› Visiting an elderly friend or family member.
πŸ’› Checking in on someone who has been unwell.
πŸ’› Reconnecting with someone you've not seen for a while.
πŸ’› Giving your loved ones an extra hug.
πŸ’› Sending a virtual hug if you can't be there in person.

Let's spread a little more kindness, compassion and connection today. You never know how much someone might need it.

At the heart of exceptional is strong leadership, dedication, and a commitment to making a positive difference every day. There is no greater recognition of excellence than being honoured at a national level.

In February we were incredibly proud to celebrate the achievement of our Registered Manager, Lynn James-Wellings, who was awarded The Home Care Registered Manager Award at the National Finals of the Great British Care Awards in February 2026. Following a series of highly competitive regional events across the UK, Lynn progressed to the National Finals, where her outstanding leadership, dedication, and impact within the social care sector were recognised and celebrated.

We are delighted to share some of the remarkable feedback received πŸ‘‡
β€œThere is no greater honour than caring for someone else's loved ones, and Lynn embodies this completely. She is truly amazing. Her dedication, compassion, and leadership have left an extraordinary legacy: a thriving business in the hands of her team and 20-30 new nurses entering social care. Lynn's philosophy, "We are only as good as he last hour of care we delivered," reflects her unwavering commitment to excellence. Her impact is profound, making her a truly deserving national winner."
