Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has launched ChatHealth – a 24/7 service offering immediate access to advice and support for people experiencing a range of mental health challenges.

The service provides a simple and discreet way for people to seek help with issues such as low mood, loneliness, relationship difficulties, panic attacks, anxiety, stress, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts.

How the service works:
Text 07312 263 127 to start a conversation
A confirmation message is sent immediately
The team aims to respond within one hour
The service operates 24 hours a day, including weekends and bank holidays
ChatHealth is entirely text-based, offering an accessible alternative to traditional services and enabling people to reach out in moments of crisis when speaking on the phone or attending in person may feel difficult.

World Su***de Prevention Day
10th September 2026

Today is a reminder that every conversation matters, every person matters, and no one should feel they have to face their darkest moments alone.
Sometimes a simple “Are you okay?” can open the door to a conversation that someone desperately needs. Listen without judgement, check in with those around you, and don’t be afraid to talk about how you’re really feeling.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out for support. You can contact
- the surgery to speak to your GP
- the Samaritans on 116 123 or text ‘SHOUT’ 85258
- NHS 111 and select the mental health option.
Please call 999 or go to A&E if someone is in immediate danger.

You are not alone. Your life matters

Men's Health Week: 8–14 June
This week is all about raising awareness of men's health and encouraging positive action.

Many serious health problems—like heart disease, diabetes, and some cancers—can be prevented or treated more easily if found early. However, men often avoid seeking help.

Use this week as a reminder to take care of yourself:

Book check-ups
Know your health numbers
Stay active
Look after your mental health
Talk openly about health

Small steps today can make a big difference for the future.

Men's Health Week 2026 will be 15-21 June and the Forum will be talking about men and pharmacy. Shortly before the week, we'll be launching a new report looking at men and pharmacy and how we can improve their relationship to improve men's health. If this topic doesn't particularly appeal there are....

8-14 June 2026 is Carers week.

Carers week is a chance to recognise the amazing work that unpaid carers do and raise awareness of the challenges they may face.

This week we would like to highlight our wonderful Social Prescribing team and how they can support local carers.

Our Social Prescribers can-
Help carers find local support/Care services
Connect carers with respite services, so they can take a break
Offer advice about finances, benefits and other practical support.
Signpost to community groups and activities that support wellbeing.

If you would like to be referred to our Social Prescribing Team please speak to your GP.

You’re amazing. Through us all coming together and sharing our support, we can help ensure our communities recognise, understand and value unpaid carers. Your name will soon appear on the Building Carer Friendly Communities wall, once our team has approved your entry.
