I sincerely hope City Of York Council put a stop to this. I cannot believe that bereavement can be turned into a production line and loved ones stored in a warehouse like this.

York and the surrounding areas have the luxury of having some of the UK’s best family owned Funeral Directors and Memorial companies. Funeral directors have private chapel of rests, loved ones are cared for with dignity and respect.

I have personally worked with, visited and worked for companies up and down the UK who all work within the bereavement industry and I can say with sincerity that York has some of the best.

If this application is approved by City Of York Council it will have negative impacts on York’s Funeral Directors, Monumental Masons, cemeteries and crematorium. Basically the entire bereavement industry which has a knock on effect to York florists, catering venues and even the person who maintains the grass around the grave.

York already has some of the best bereavement care in the UK, we don’t need such a dignified profession turning into a production line with warehouses.

We were asked to compete in our local Scarecrow festival this year and our team, as always did not disappoint.

One of the most common questions we get asked by families is “how long will it take to be done”

It is standard practice in the UK for burial grounds to not allow memorials to be erected until a minimum of 6 months has passed from the date of the interment.

Some burials grounds even extend this to 12 months and we always advise families to allow at least one winter prior to a memorial being installed as the wet weather conditions are perfect for allowing the grave time to settle and minimises any subsistence risk.

Our internal wait list is anywhere from 3 - 9 months and is dependent on if the memorial is a small vase, cremation stone, restoration, upright lawn memorial or full kerb set.

The advice we give any potential client is if someone can do the work quickly they tend not to be busy for a reason and we always recommend checking online reviews as well as asking their funeral director or burial ground officials for recommendations prior to placing an order.

What a lovely thing to do The Blast Shop, perfect for any start up memorial companies

Afternoon everyone! We have a Summa wide-format T750 Pro Tangential Cutting Plotter which is free to a good home. It's working, but could do with some TLC. Maybe new rollers and cutting strip. Comes on a stand. Serial connection, so you'd need a serial port on your computer or a convertor/switch. Strictly collection only :-)

A truly stunning memorial stone we have just erected in Selby Cemetery for Jimmy

Lisa from our Selby showroom worked closely with Jimmys family and together they designed this beautiful memorial. Our masons then took great pride in creating and erecting what Jimmys family had envisioned
