Our services are extremely busy. Please support us by only attending our emergency departments for serious or life-threatening emergencies. Please consider other health services, such as your GP, pharmacies or NHS 111. This helps ensure that our hospitals can care for those who need them most.

Need advice or support?
Contact NHS 111 online https://111.nhs.uk/ or call 111 (available 24/7)

An amber heat-health alert is in place across parts of England from today until 14 August.

During an amber alert, hot weather can put more people’s health at risk – not just those who are usually more vulnerable.

Older people, young children and people with existing health conditions may be particularly at risk.

Take extra care and look out for others who may struggle in the heat.

Learn how to protect your eyes whilst watching the partial solar eclipse!

We probably shouldn’t have to say this, but don’t look directly at the sun. Looking directly at the sun without the right protection can cause permanent damage to your eyesight – so you need to take care. Remember, your normal sunglasses may look great, but they won't cut it.

Follow the link to learn more about how to watch the eclipse safely!
