What is your go to yoga pose when it's very hot?

"Just calm Down" ... um, excuse me?
Have you ever been told to "calm down".....and it had exactly the opposite effect? 🤯
Me too.
It's like telling a fire to put itself out.
Now here's the interesting bit.
I don't actually think it's the words.
I think it's The Listener (your sense of hearing).
Let me introduce you...
The Listener is one of my five Soldiers.
But don't picture someone quietly sitting in the corner listening politely... oh no.....your senses are not passive.
The Listener is busy.
Very busy.
It doesn't simply hear words.
It interrogates them:
"What does that mean?"
"Have I heard that before?"
"What happened the last time someone said that?"
In other words...
Your Listener is an interpreter, not an amplifier.
That's why one person hears,
"Calm down."..and thinks,
"They're trying to help."
Another hears, "Stop talking", "You're too much", or "I'm not listening anymore."
Same words. Different interpretation.
And here's the really important bit...
That doesn't necessarily mean the speaker meant any of those things (although sometimes they do, tbf!).
It just means your Listener has translated them that way.
That's why I'm obsessed with language.
Words don't just carry meaning. They create it.
Words don't arrive in empty space. They arrive in people.
And people have history.

Now I'm curious...

So, what's your word bomb?
What's the one phrase that instantly changes how you hear everything that follows?
Mine?
Without question...
"Calm down." 😅
Other classics...
💣 "It's only a joke."
💣 "Don't be so sensitive."
💣 "We need to talk."
💣 "Just relax."
