August Birthday Recap🎉

As we begin our September celebrations, let’s take a moment to look back and celebrate everyone who had a birthday with us in August☺️

We kicked off the month on the 2nd by celebrating Diane!

Then, on the 3rd, it was Barbara’s turn to celebrate!

On the 4th, we celebrated Susan’s birthday with her!

The celebrations continued on the 5th, when we wished Clive a very happy birthday!

On the 26th, we celebrated Maureen’s special day!

And finally, we wrapped up the month on the 31st by celebrating Steven!

It was wonderful celebrating with everyone throughout August, and we can’t wait for more birthday celebrations in September!

Generation Fitness Visit!🏆

Last week we had another fantastic fitness session with our friends from Generation Fitness!

Our regular instructor Chelsea has recently moved to a different area, meaning she can no longer visit us at The Rowans.
Although we’ll miss seeing her, we’re delighted to welcome our new friend Lesley - who will now be leading our fitness sessions at The Rowans☺️

As always, everyone who took part had a fantastic time, getting involved in all the challenges, keeping active and having lots of fun along the way!

A big thank you to Lesley for a brilliant session — we’re already looking forward to the next one!🌟

Spark The World Day!💫

Last week we celebrated’Spark The World Day’ with some good music, singing and plenty of smiles!

We had the lovely Pat Jordan come along to entertain the people of the home, and what a fantastic afternoon it was☺️

Spark the World Day is all about spreading joy, kindness and positivity, and what better way to celebrate than through the power of music?
Everyone had a fantastic afternoon of singing along, tapping their toes and sharing plenty of smiles and laughter!

Keeping Everyday Fun🌟

At The Rowans, we believe every day is an opportunity to try something new, make memories and, most importantly, have fun together!

From enjoying our very own mini golf, to getting creative with Pictionary and keeping active through fun activities, there’s always something to look forward to and get involved in☺️

It’s not always about what we do, but the laughter, friendships and special moments we share along the way. Sometimes, it’s the little moments that mean the most — a shared smile, a good laugh or simply enjoying time together.

At The Rowans, we’re passionate about making each day meaningful, bringing joy to the everyday and creating happy memories together🤍

Prosecco Day🥂

Last week, we celebrated National Prosecco Day in style!

We gave our lovely hydration station a little makeover, put on some music and took the celebrations around the home, spreading plenty of smiles and joy along the way🤍

The people of the home enjoyed a little glass of fizz, and even the team got involved in the celebrations! It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the music, having a laugh and making happy memories together☺️

Cheers to good company, great music and a little bit of sparkle!✨

Summer Sounds 2026☀️

At the beginning of the month, some of the people of our home had the pleasure of attending Wigan Council’s Summer Sounds Festival!

It was a fantastic afternoon filled with music, laughter and community spirit! As people from homes across the Wigan borough came together to celebrate the summer💃🎵

In true British fashion, we did experience a little rain - but that certainly didn’t stop anyone from dancing and having a brilliant time!

A huge thank you to our fantastic team for helping to make the day so special, and of course, thank you to everyone at Wigan Council who worked hard to organise such a wonderful event.

We’re already looking forward to the next one!☺️

The Rowans Summer Quiz!🏆

Our Summer Quiz brought plenty of laughter, excitement and a little bit of friendly rivalry!

Teams worked together to answer the questions, shouting out their answers and cheering each other on throughout the quiz.

To keep everyone on their toes, each team had a water gun at the ready for anyone suspected of cheating! There were also some brilliant forfeits along the way, adding even more fun and laughter to the afternoon.

It was fantastic to see everyone who took part getting into the team spirit, joining in with each challenge and supporting one another throughout💛

At Rowans, a simple sing-along is so much more than music!

It brings people together, sparks cherished memories, encourages conversation and most importantly - fills our home with smiles and laughter.

Moments like these remind us that it's often the simplest activities that create the greatest sense of connection, joy and belonging🤍

I'm a Celebrity Experience!🌴

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! came to Rowans for an afternoon full of fun, laughter and unforgettable moments. Everyone got stuck in to the touch, taste and smell challenges - inspired by the popular tv show!

For the touch challenge, each person put on a blindfold and reached into a mystery box to guess what they could feel, all while trying to ignore the sounds and playful distractions around them!

For the taste and smell challenges, everyone picked a mystery jar, before guessing what was inside. The rest of the room already knew the answers, which led to lots of laughter, funny reactions and plenty of encouragement from the crowd!

It was lovely to see so many people stepping outside their comfort zones and giving every challenge a go. The people who live in our home, their families and our team all enjoyed a unique and fantastic afternoon, trying something new, supporting one another and taking part together💚

Singer Visit🎙️

Music has a wonderful way of bringing people together, and to round off July, everyone at Rowans enjoyed another live performance filled with singing, dancing and great company!

A big thank you to Lucy, from Cherry Tree Entertainment, for another fantastic performance—we always appreciate your visits and look forward to welcoming you back again!🤍
