What a fantastic time we had at the Summer Ball at Holdingham Grange! ✨💃🪩

It was a lovely evening full of great entertainment, good food and even better company. Guests enjoyed brilliant performances from The Moon Shiners and the Military Wives, were amazed by a talented magician, and danced the night away with disco entertainment. A delicious buffet and desserts kept everyone well fed throughout the evening.

There was also plenty of excitement during the auction, with some fantastic prizes up for grabs and lots of enthusiastic bidding!

A huge thank you goes to everyone who made the evening possible, especially our amazing catering team, Home Manager Bex, Head of Activities Sanjay, and all of the Holdingham Grange team who worked so hard behind the scenes.

It was a truly memorable night, and one that will be talked about for a long time to come. 💙

⚽🏆 WORLD CUP SWEEPSTAKE WINNERS! 🏆⚽

What an exciting finish to our World Cup Sweepstake, and a huge congratulations to our lucky winners! 🎉👏

🥇 Chloe was our Staff Sweepstake Winner, having drawn the eventual champions Spain! As always, 50% of the money raised goes to our Residents' Activity Fund, helping us create even more wonderful experiences for those who live at Glenholme Wendreth Court, with the remaining 50% going to our lucky winner! 💚

🏅 Colin was the winner of our Residents' No-Money Sweepstake, where every resident was given the chance to pull out a team completely free of charge for the opportunity to win a prize. Colin also picked Spain and was delighted to take home the winning prize of a very large bar of Cadbury's chocolate! 🎁😊

🎂 As if that wasn't enough, it was a double celebration for Colin, who also enjoyed celebrating his 90th Birthday! 🥳🎈 What a fantastic week!

Congratulations once again to both of our winners, and thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the sweepstake such great fun for residents and staff alike and giving everybody involved talking points and an interest in the World Cup. ❤️⚽

Vera James House Care Home had an unforgettable celebration of National Friends Day as they welcomed their wonderful pen-pals from Brandon Park Nursing Home. Residents from both homes shared laughter and heartwarming stories, explored the beautiful Cathedral together, and enjoyed a delicious lunch at The Lamb Hotel in Ely. Special thanks go to Eileen and her fantastic fellow tour guide, who brought the Cathedral’s rich history to life for everyone. The Vera James House community is deeply grateful for the new memories created, the joy shared, and the lasting friendships that are blossoming. Everyone at Glenholme Wendreth Court would like to say a huge THANK YOU to the wonderful Debbie Terry from the Fenland Neighbourhood Community Nursing Team for her incredible kindness and generosity. 💐💖

Debbie has been lovingly knitting beautiful Sensory Octopuses for our residents, and we couldn't be more grateful. 🧶🐙 Each one is soft, colourful, comforting, and designed to provide gentle sensory stimulation.

These wonderful handmade octopuses help to:
💜 Provide comfort and reassurance
🧠 Encourage sensory engagement
🤲 Act as a soft fidget aid for busy hands
😊 Promote relaxation and a sense of calm

The time, care and love that goes into every stitch will make such a positive difference to the wellbeing of our residents. Acts of kindness like this truly remind us how amazing our local community is. ❤️

🎾🍓 Wimbledon Afternoon at Wendreth Court! 🍓🎾

On Monday afternoon, our residents enjoyed a wonderful Wimbledon-themed celebration, bringing all the excitement of Centre Court right into our home! 🇬🇧🎾

With the Wimbledon Tennis playing on the TV, everyone tucked into delicious strawberries & cream 🍓🥛, enjoyed refreshing glasses of Pimm's, lemonade 🍋, cooling iced lollies 🍦 and even some Jelly Drops 💧 to help keep everyone hydrated in the hot weather.

To help everyone stay cool, we also had a paddling pool in the shade just outside our event room where residents could dip their feet and relax – a lovely way to beat the summer heat! 💦☀️

The afternoon was filled with wonderful socialising, reminiscing, smiles and laughter, creating another special memory for everyone who joined us. 😊❤️

At Wendreth Court, we always try to ensure that everyone can be part of our celebrations. Residents who wanted to but were unable to attend the main group event were treated to strawberries & cream in their own rooms with staff, with Wimbledon Tennis showing on their individual TVs, allowing them to enjoy the occasion alongside everyone else. 🍓📺💙

A fantastic afternoon was had by all, and we can't wait for our next themed event!
