Boundaries can be bridges to healthier relationships
Healthy boundaries help us communicate our needs, protect our wellbeing, and build relationships respect and understanding.
Setting a boundary may sound like:
“I need some time to myself.”
“I’m not comfortable with that.”
“I care about you, and I also need to think about my needs.”
“I’m happy to talk when we can both do so calmly.”
A boundary is not about controlling someone else’s behaviour. It’s about being clear about what you need and what you will do to care for yourself.
Healthy boundaries can help us relate to one another in healthier ways.
When we communicate with honesty, compassion, and consistency, boundaries can create greater safety, trust, and connection.
