Stop! Pause. Take a breath.
Hearing your baby cry and doing everything you can to stop them, but it still not working is absolutely heartbreaking and exhausting!
I don’t think you will find a parent that hasn’t been in this situation and a large % of these times are at, or around, 6 weeks of age. This is usually the peek of the sh*t storm and baby’s, on average, cry or fuss for just under 3 hours a day.
This is when a lot of parents start to doubt their ability to breastfeed and introduce formula, when they haven’t wanted to, out of desperation.
If your baby is having enough wet and dirty nappies, is putting on weight and is healthy, then you and your supply are more than enough. This is a phase, albeit a bloody hard one!
This is something I go through in my Preparing to Breastfeed course. I want all new parents to feel confident when these things come up and one way to do this is to have realistic expectations and an understanding of your baby’s biological norms.
Check the link in my bio or DM me for more information.
