As another academic year comes to an end, it felt like the perfect time to pause and reflect.

It's been a really good year, and I don't take that for granted because I know they aren't all like this.

So, before I switch off for the summer, I wanted to celebrate the journey.

This year wasn't about going viral it was about:

- learning
- growing
- beginning again
- becoming the practitioner I want to be

And hopefully making a positive difference along the way ✨

It was about stepping outside my comfort zone.
📚 Studying.
🎤 Speaking.
✍️ Writing.
🤝 Connecting.
💚 Helping.
🌱 Building.

Alongside another year of my Nutritional Therapy degree with ...

I've had the privilege of delivering workshops, writing articles for , supporting clients, collaborations with and sharing evidence-based nutrition with parents, schools and workplaces.

I've also discovered that running a business means constantly learning new skills - from creating content in Canva and navigating social media to building a website and finding my own voice.

This year reminded me that confidence doesn't come before you start - it grows every time you choose to keep showing up.

Now it's time to practise what I preach: to pause, recharge and spend some quality time with my family.

Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, collaborated with and trusted me this year. I'm incredibly grateful, and I'm looking forward to what's next.

Wishing you all a wonderful summer. See you soon! ☀️

Thanks for promoting my article Brainz Magazine It's a topic I'm really passionate about. Our children really do deserve better 🙏❤️

The 'Big Food industry' has transformed our children's food environment - and most of us didn't even notice it happening.

The food our children are growing up with is dramatically different from the food many of us grew up eating.

Over the last 40 years, ultra-processed foods have become the norm, products have been engineered to be incredibly appealing, marketing to children has exploded, and busy families have been left navigating an environment where the easiest choice isn't always the healthiest.

In my latest Brainz Magazine article, I explore:

✨ How childhood nutrition has changed over the past four decades
✨ Why this matters for children's health, energy, mood and development
✨ Practical, realistic ways families can make positive changes—without striving for perfection.

If you're a parent, grandparent, teacher or anyone who cares about children's health and wellbeing, I genuinely believe this is a must-read.

This isn't about blaming parents. In fact, it's the opposite.

Parents today are raising children in a food environment unlike any previous generation. Understanding that environment is the first step towards making informed choices and creating healthier habits that last.

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Does modern life make healthy choices more difficult for our kids?

Such a swot I know 🤓 but today I was revising my third-year notes on cardiovascular health.

Like many people, I used to think heart disease was mainly about cholesterol.

What I'm learning is that the science is far more nuanced.

Researchers are increasingly looking at things like:
🫀 The health of our blood vessels (the endothelium)
🩸 Nitric oxide and how it supports healthy circulation
🛡️ The glycocalyx – a microscopic protective layer lining our blood vessels
🍽️ Insulin resistance and metabolic health
🔥 The role of chronic inflammation

It's not that cholesterol is no longer important. Rather, our understanding of cardiovascular disease has become much more sophisticated. These processes all interact over many years to influence our long-term health.

What I find encouraging is that many of the habits that support these systems are the same ones we already know are good for us:

✔ Moving our bodies regularly
✔ Eating a nutrient-rich diet
✔ Prioritising sleep
✔ Managing stress
✔ Not smoking
✔ Looking after our metabolic health

Science doesn't stand still. Every year adds another piece to the puzzle, and it reinforces the importance of staying curious and open to new evidence.

Spent the day at the Food on Prescription Conference yesterday and my brain is FULL...in a great way!

A few takeaways that really stuck with me:

🌱 Healthy people need healthy soil
🍔 Most people know what healthy eating is — the challenge is putting it into practice
⚡ Weight loss isn't just about willpower; metabolic health matters
💉 GLP-1 medications can be effective, but nutrition and lifestyle support remain essential
🥦 Malnutrition is a bigger problem than many people realise
🧠 Stress, emotions and eating behaviours are deeply connected
🌍 Chronic disease, mental health and environmental health may be more interconnected than we think

The biggest lesson?

Our food, sleep, stress, movement, relationships, environment and sense of purpose all influence our wellbeing.

Feeling inspired and excited for my final year of studies with 📚💚

I loved delivering my Food & Mood for Kids and Teenagers talk last night at George Abbott Secondary School. Such an engaged group and so many great questions! A huge thank you to for organising and hosting, and to all the parents (and students!) who came along and got involved.

If your school or parent community would benefit from this presentation, I'd love to bring it to you too - just drop me a message.

Check out my latest Brainz Magazine article ✨

It's a quick read, packed with practical insights to help stabilise blood sugar and support more consistent energy, mood, and focus throughout the day.

Ever noticed how everything feels harder when you're tired, hungry, and running on caffeine?

There's actually a good reason for that.

Blood sugar plays a huge role in mood, focus, concentration, cravings, and emotional regulation – yet it's something many of us rarely think about.

One of the simplest ways to support healthy blood sugar balance is to build meals around the three key pillars: protein, fibre, and healthy fats. Together, they help slow digestion, reduce energy crashes, and provide more sustained energy throughout the day.

Give it a read and let me know what you think 😊
