🌷 🌱 May at the Biodome 🌱✨

It’s been a busy few weeks!

🌱 gardening club is in full swing, we’re in week 4 and so far we’ve planted sunflowers, sown salad leaves, made seed bombs and lots of watering. It’s been an absolute joy seeing the small ones enjoying gardening and being outside

🌱the beans and tomatoes are loving the biodome! We’ve got flowers on both

🌱we’ve had lots of pollinators visiting the outside planter which is brilliant

🌱we’re filling a second planter this week for the courgettes to spread out

🌱the school PFA have kindly offered a substantial amount of funding to really take things to the next level for the children over the next half term

A life lesson I’ve learnt first hand!

The funny thing is that the people acting like this are never the ones putting energy into building something for themselves.

Instead, they’re focusing on others that are out there creating a life and trying to tear them down.

They don’t want to see the risks, the hard work, the failure, the ‘what if this all goes to sh*t’ the tears that it takes to create something of your own and make it work!

The older I get the more I realise that the criticism isn’t actually about you, it’s about the mirror that you accidentally became to someone else’s fear.

It forces people to face their own ‘maybe I could have…’ and that’s not an easy conversation to have with yourself.

So, if you’ve ever felt like the moment you changed direction, started your business, changes career, started working on yourself, took a leap of faith that certain people got weird…

it’s not a coincidence!

You simply remind them of a version of themselves that they will probably never meet!

The lesson…

Never dull your light to make someone else feel more comfortable ✨

Bio dome update!

Exciting development!!!

The first plant babies are in! ✨✨🌱🌱🌱✨✨

We transplanted the runner beans and dwarf bean seedlings to the growing system. The plan is to get them climbing up the interior to maximise space.

We also cleared the web of mint plants that had pretty much take over two of the planters to make room for our tomatoes and salad leaves next month. 🍅 🥗 the mint wasn’t wasted, just re potted and contained!!

The first session with the kids is just 3 weeks away 🙀 lots of work to be done before then.

Blown away with the amount of support for the bio dome project following my post yesterday!

There’s been a lot of work going on behind the scenes and we’re almost ready for the first plant babies to go into the hydroponic system in the bio dome!

I’m really passionate about instilling an interest in healthy eating from a young age. I was lucky to grow up on a farm and establish a love of plants and growing our own food. My for goal for the bio dome is to spread this to a new generation of little gardeners!

An epic weekend of walking and shenanigans on 📍 Dartmoor

20.76km circular route starting and finishing at Princetown. We saw some amazing views before the fog descended and came across the spooky Nuns Cross Farm 👻

The route featured on and off road, mainly tracks and trails. I’d rate the level as moderate even with the longer distance the terrain was forgiving and the ascent at the end was manageable.

We stayed the night at The Travellers Rest guest house in Prince town (as featured on 4 in a bed!)

We loved the hot tub at the end of the day with a glass of fizz!

Day 2, Dartmoor prison museum and a lovely breakfast at the fox cafe.
