๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ”ฌ Meet the Researcher: Dr Emma Tecwyn ๐Ÿง โœจ

Ever wondered how kids, animals, and even primates solve puzzles? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ” Emma is a developmental psychologist investigating the origins of problem-solving skills across species!

Using fun experiments with physical puzzles and computer-based tasks, Emma's research explores:

๐Ÿ”น Mental Simulation in Kids ๐Ÿงฉ โ€“ Do children imagine different outcomes before making a choice? How do their thinking skills shape their decisions?

๐Ÿ”น Causal Reasoning ๐Ÿ”„ โ€“ How do kids figure out cause-and-effect? Can they understand that some actions make things happen?

๐Ÿ”น Social Learning & Overimitation ๐Ÿ‘€ โ€“ Why do children copy even unnecessary actions? How do social cues influence this behavior?

Emma has also studied orangutans planning ahead ๐Ÿฆง, capuchin monkeys using probabilities to make decisions ๐Ÿต, dogs understanding gravity ๐Ÿถ, and children's sense of time โณ!

Emma's work helps us understand how young minds develop, learn, and problem-solveโ€”through childhood and across evolution itself! ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’ก
