Chance 2 Mental Wellness and Recovery Hub Ghana/Jamaica Foundation was honored to be represented at the Serve It Forward Medical Mission outreach held on May 2, 2026, at Petersfield Primary and Infant School, Westmoreland, Jamaica.

The outreach provided free patient care, medical check-ups, and home visits, delivering essential healthcare services to members of the community with dedication and compassion.

Chance 2 distributed essential supplies and engaged participants in a mental wellness checklist to help assess their psychological well-being. Individuals who required additional support were appropriately referred to access the necessary services to improve their mental health status.

It was inspiring to witness the coordinated efforts of the medical team, led by Dr. Aubrey Stewart, working tirelessly to ensure accessible and quality healthcare for all.

This engagement reflects the importance of collaboration and community-driven initiatives in promoting health and wellness. Chance 2 remains committed to supporting impactful programs that improve lives and strengthen communities.

We commend the organizers, healthcare professionals, and volunteers for their outstanding service, dedication, and commitment to community health.

The collaboration between the Chance 2 Mental Wellness and Recovery Hub Ghana Foundation and the David Naboare Foundation (DNF) is a strategic partnership established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in February 2026.

This partnership aims to promote mental health awareness, education, and service delivery across Ghana, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. It focuses on designing and implementing an Executive Diploma and online mental health training programmes using blended learning approaches, while also supporting community-based mental health initiatives.

Through this collaboration, both organizations combine their expertise to strengthen capacity in mental health education, increase access to structured training, and build a network of certified mental health professionals, advocates, and practitioners. The partnership also supports the development of Mental Wellness and Recovery Hubs, promotes research and data-driven interventions, and works toward reducing stigma associated with mental health.

Overall, the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to improving mental health outcomes, empowering communities, and advancing sustainable mental health systems through training, advocacy, and institutional partnerships.

On, March 10, 2026, Mrs. Janet Symister Beckford, Founder and CEO of Chance 2 Mental Wellness and Recovery Hub Ghana Foundation (also known as Chance2 Mental Wellness), recently visited key mental health and innovation institutions in Liberia, including the University Innovation Pod (UniPOD) at the University of Liberia and the E.S. Grant Mental Health Hospital in Monrovia.

During the visit, Mrs. Beckford engaged with local stakeholders to advance mental health care, recovery support, and community wellness initiatives. The engagements culminated in establishing a working relationship between Chance 2 Mental Wellness and Recovery Hub and Liberian partners—Syntra Innovation and Technology Initiatives.
As a direct outcome, a Chance 2 team was established in Liberia to encourage further working relationship such as on-line Mental Health training training in the first phase. As time goes by, further engagements will be made according to the mandate of both organizations. This will help tackle the plight concerning illnesses.

This collaboration aims to strengthen mental health infrastructure, build local capacity, and provide accessible support for individuals facing mental illness, substance use disorders, and related challenges, complementing the vital work of institutions like E.S. Grant, Liberia’s primary psychiatric referral hospital. The initiative marks a significant step toward sustainable, community-driven mental health solutions in the region.

Community Outreach Update | Chance 2 Mental Wellness and Recovery Hub Ghana Foundation

We are pleased to share highlights from a recent visit to Konkonuru Health Centre, where Mr. Jahvana Evelyn, Chairman of Chance 2 Mental Wellness and Recovery Hub Ghana Foundation, visited the facility on behalf of the organization and successfully delivered a support package to the dedicated health staff.

The items were warmly received by Ms Salomey Adegu, the Physician Assistant representing the health centre, who expressed gratitude and appreciation for Chance 2’s continued support and commitment to community health and wellness.

Sustainability in Action:

Mr. Jahvana also confirmed that the refrigerator previously donated to the health centre courtesy of Chance 2 and Digital Africa Diaspora Development Services (DADDS) is still in active use. It is being properly maintained and remains in good working condition, supporting essential medical services at the facility.
