HTH OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY SUB-BMC HOLDS ANNUAL STAFF DURBAR

The Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OBGY) Sub-BMC of Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH) has held its annual Staff Durbar, bringing together staff members in an atmosphere of reflection, appreciation, and team building under the theme “Promoting Unity, Staff Welfare and Team Spirit in OBGY.”

The durbar provided a valuable platform for staff to engage in open dialogue aimed at strengthening collaboration, enhancing workplace relationships, and promoting staff welfare.

In his opening remarks, the Head of Department, Dr. Anthony Dah, underscored the importance of unity and teamwork in delivering quality maternal and reproductive healthcare services.

This was followed by an interactive open forum where staff openly shared experiences, challenges, and recommendations to foster a more supportive and productive work environment.

A highlight of the event was a series of team-bonding activities designed to deepen camaraderie among staff.

The participants enjoyed a communal meal and enthusiastically took part in the engaging “Who Knows OBGY Best?” quiz competition, which tested their knowledge of the Department, its history, and the broader culture of Ho Teaching Hospital.

The durbar also featured an appreciation segment, during which staff publicly recognized colleagues whose dedication, support, and professionalism have positively impacted their work and the Department.

Mr. Justice Kwame-Kumah, Health Service Administrator of the Department, who chaired the durbar, commended staff for their commitment and resilience.

He encouraged them to continue fostering teamwork and maintaining high standards of safe, patient-centered care.

As part of efforts to reinforce professional standards, Pharm. Belinda Atsunyo reminded staff of the importance of adhering strictly to standard operating procedures regarding drug prescription and handling.

The staff also benefited from a presentation by Miss Adeline Mawusi Yibor-Black, Senior Administrative Manager (Communications), who highlighted the significance of therapeutic communication, data privacy, professional ethics, informed consent, and the need for full disclosure of procedures in healthcare delivery.

In recognition of excellence and dedication, management of the Sub-BMC honoured outstanding staff members, celebrated colleagues who had achieved significant personal milestones, and paid tribute to retirees for their invaluable years of service.

Special appreciation messages were also delivered to acknowledge the contributions of individuals and teams across the Sub-BMC.
