Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, continues to be a major public health concern affecting many people across the country. Regular screening, healthy eating, physical activity, stress management and adherence to treatment can help reduce the risk of serious complications such as stroke, heart disease and kidney failure.
As Ghana joins the global community to mark World Hypertension Day, the Ghana Health Service encourages the public to know their blood pressure status and take active steps towards protecting their heart health. All staff are entreated to check their blood pressure regularly at the nearest wellness centre.
Together, we can promote healthier lifestyles and support the prevention and control of hypertension for a healthier nation.
