*EARLY SIGNS THAT YOU MAY BE HAVING DIABETES*

The Silent Beginning

Diabetes does not always arrive with dramatic symptoms. For many people, it begins quietly.
A little more thirst.
A little more fatigue.
A few changes that seem easy to ignore.
But these small signs may be the body's way of signaling that blood sugar levels are becoming too high.

1 — Constant Thirst

One of the earliest signs of diabetes is excessive thirst.
No matter how much water is consumed, the mouth still feels dry.
The body tries to remove excess sugar through urine, causing more fluid loss.
As a result, thirst increases.

2 — Frequent Urination

Along with increased thirst comes frequent urination. You may find yourself visiting the washroom more often than usual.
Some people notice they wake up multiple times during the night to urinate.
This happens because the kidneys work harder to remove excess glucose from the blood.

3 — Unusual Fatigue

Feeling unusually tired is another common early sign.
Glucose is the body's main source of energy.
When diabetes interferes with how glucose is used, the body's cells may not get the energy they need efficiently.
The result can be persistent fatigue and low energy.

4 — Increased Hunger

Some people notice they feel hungry more often.
Even after eating.
The body struggles to use glucose properly, so the brain may continue signaling hunger despite adequate food intake.

5 — Blurred Vision

High blood sugar can affect fluid balance in the eyes.
As a result, vision may become blurry at times.
Many people assume they simply need new glasses, when the real cause may be elevated blood sugar.

6 — Slow-Healing Wounds

Cuts, scrapes, and wounds that heal slowly can also be a warning sign.
High blood sugar may affect circulation and the body's natural healing processes.
What should heal quickly may take much longer than expected.

7 — Recurrent Infections

Some individuals experience repeated infections.
These may include skin infections, urinary tract infections, or other recurring illnesses.
Elevated blood sugar can make it easier for infections to develop and harder for the body to fight them.

8 — Unexplained Weight Loss

Losing weight without trying can also occur, particularly in some forms of diabetes.
Even though the person is eating normally—or sometimes even more than usual—the body may struggle to use glucose effectively for energy.

Don't Ignore the Signs

Not everyone with diabetes experiences symptoms.
And many symptoms can be caused by other conditions.
But if you notice:
Excessive thirst
Frequent urination
Unusual fatigue
Increased hunger
Blurred vision
Slow-healing wounds
Recurrent infections
Unexplained weight loss
It may be time to check your blood sugar.

The End

Diabetes often develops gradually.
The earlier it is detected, the better the opportunity to prevent complications and protect long-term health.
Sometimes the smallest symptoms carry the most important message.

“Know the signs. Check your blood sugar. Early detection matters.”
