Tema General Hospital on 28th May 2026 received a team from the United States Government Integrated Health Partnership Activity ( USG/ IHP) implemented by Project HOPE. The engagement involved strategic and support discussion initially and then the donation of various medical gadgets and equipment.
This equipment support is part of a five-year strategic initiative aimed at strengthening maternal, newborn, and child healthcare systems across Ghana and reducing maternal and infant mortality by 2030.
The donated equipment included bilirubinometers, uterine ballon tamponade, laryngoscope, nebulizer, non - rebreather masks among others. These items will greatly enhance the quality of care provided to mothers and babies at TGH. Beyond the equipment donation, the partnership also focuses on building the capacity of healthcare professionals to effectively manage critical conditions such as postpartum hemorrhage and eclampsia.
We sincerely appreciate the continued collaboration between the U.S. Government, Ministry of Health, Ghana Health Service and all stakeholders committed to improving healthcare delivery in Ghana.
Together, we are building a resilient pathway for mothers and newborns.
