Our Lady of Grace Hospital joins the world in observing Newborn Jaundice Awareness Month — a time dedicated to educating families on the importance of early detection and treatment of jaundice in newborn babies.

Newborn jaundice is common and usually treatable when detected early. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to watch out for:

• Yellowing of the eyes and skin
• Poor feeding
• Excessive sleepiness
• Fever or unusual crying
