💜 SEPTEMBER IS GYNECOLOGICAL CANCER AWARENESS MONTH 💜

This month, The Lotus Cancer Initiative Inc. shines a light on gynecological cancers and the importance of prevention, early detection, treatment, and support.

Let’s talk about cervical cancer.

Cervical cancer is largely preventable. Persistent infection with high-risk HPV (human papillomavirus) is the main cause, and regular screening can identify changes before they become cancer.

✨ Protect yourself:
💉 Get vaccinated against HPV
🔬 Keep up with recommended cervical cancer screening ( Pap smears, HPV testing)
❤️ Don’t ignore unusual symptoms
📋 Follow up promptly when screening results are abnormal
🤝 Encourage the women in your life to prioritize their health

Prevention starts with awareness. Early detection can save lives.

Essequibo Coast – Region 2, We Heard You!

The Lotus Cancer Initiative Inc. listened, and we are coming to you on June 27th with a dedicated team from Ministry of Health, Rise Guyana Foundation and the Chinese Medical Diplomatic Team to the Lima Regional Hospital.

We are excited to bring women’s health and cancer prevention services closer to the people of Region 2 and look forward to serving the communities that have always held a special place in our hearts.

For our founder, this outreach is especially meaningful. As a daughter of the Essequibo Coast, born and raised in the region, she remains committed to giving back to her hometown and birth village.

Together, we can make a difference through awareness, early detection, and compassionate care.
