✨Mental Well-Being for All: Conference on Strength-Based & Preventive Interventions in HK and Chinese Communities✨ Master Class in HK: Prof. Mick Cooper Live Workshop

Person-Centred Therapy: A Contemporary Introduction

🔎Why Person-Centred Therapy Matters Today

In today’s fast-paced mental health landscape, Person-Centered Therapy (PCT) remains essential for building deep therapeutic alliances. Emphasizing empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard, PCT creates a safe space that empowers clients toward self-healing and personal growth.

As in-depth training in PCT remains rare in Hong Kong, the Division of Counselling Psychology is honored to invite world-renowned psychologist Prof. Mick Cooper for a live workshop marking our 20th Anniversary.

➡️Workshop Overview
This workshop provides psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists, and other mental health professionals — both trainees and in practice — with a contemporary introduction to Carl Rogers' person-centred theory and practice.

✅Learning Objectives
- Comprehend the basic principles of person-centred developmental and personality theory.
- Recognise Rogers's 'core conditions' for therapeutic personality changes.
- Identify person-centred forms of therapeutic practice.
- Critically consider person-centred theory and practice from a contemporary, evidence-informed standpoint.

✨Speaker Profile
Prof. Mick Cooper is Professor of Counselling Psychology at the University of Roehampton and a BPS Chartered Psychologist. A leading authority in humanistic, existential, and pluralistic therapies, he has authored numerous core textbooks and advocates for relational depth and evidence-informed practice.
