Recently completed the PHECC First Aid Response course.

A really worthwhile few days of learning practical skills that could make a difference in an emergency. I think as a wellness instructor it’s important to know some first aid. Hopefully I’ll never need to use them, but it’s reassuring to know how to respond if the situation arises.

Thanks to everyone involved in delivering the training.

Join me for a 1 day stress busting retreat at Eagles Rock Retreat set in the beautiful Cooley Mountains in Co. Louth.
You will learn breathing techniques to calm your nervous system as well as the science behind it and then put it to the test by taking an ice bath. After a delicious vegan lunch we will take a short hike in the mountains and finish off with some relaxing Qigong.

Tomorrow I face the Abseil Challenge in Croke Park in aid of
I’m looking forward to it as well as being a little bit nervous but it’s in aid of a good cause.
I can’t practice the abseil but I can visualise and also know how to breathe in a certain way to remain calm.

There’s nothing as refreshing as a dip in a cool mountain stream after a hike. Spent a lovely day yesterday hiking the Foyles Way in the Cooley Peninsula. It’s great to be out in nature, it’s good for the soul.

Did Molly’s Loop in the Cooley Mountains yesterday.

It’s a nice steady climb without being too punishing, and the views open up pretty quickly. It’s a lovely mix of rolling green hills, quiet valleys, and then suddenly you’re looking out over Dundalk Bay.

The trail itself is well marked and easy to follow, with a good mix of forest track and open mountain paths. It’s the kind of loop where you can just settle into your stride and enjoy it without constantly checking your map. Made a slight detour to visit a deserted pre famine village which was sad to see imagining how they lived back then.
An enjoyable way to spend a Bank Holiday Monday.
