🌈 Play is an essential part of children’s healthy development and wellbeing. Through play, children learn to express emotions, build confidence, develop social skills, and make sense of the world around them. It supports creativity, problem-solving, communication, and emotional regulation in a natural and enjoyable way.

For mindfulness and wellbeing, play gives children the opportunity to slow down, connect with the present moment, and explore their thoughts and feelings safely. It can help reduce stress and anxiety, encourage resilience, and support positive relationships with others.

Unstructured and imaginative play also nurtures curiosity, independence, and self-awareness — all of which are important for emotional growth and lifelong wellbeing. When children feel free to play, explore, and simply be themselves, they are more likely to thrive both emotionally and socially. 🌈

In a world that constantly feels so busy it’s so important we take time to ā€˜just be’ in the present moment.
When we are totally immersed in the present moment we are unable to worry about the past or the what ifs of the future, just to simply be in the here and now. The benefits of mindfulness are so valuable for our children’s wellbeing. Let’s build strength in their minds as well as their bodies and make them stronger, confident and more resilient for whatever lies ahead.

What a fabulous 4 weeks sharing Mindfulness with the children in . Huge thank you to the children for engaging so well each week. We covered feelings and emotions and learned strategies to use when we feel frustrated and overwhelmed. We learned about gratitude and how it can make us 25% happier when we practice it every day (start noticing the small things) On week 3 we explored positive and negative thinking styles and made beautiful positive affirmation mirrors and posters on fixed mindset Vs growth mindset. Finally on week 4 we looked at ways to become more resilient and not give up when things don’t go our way. Thank you so much to the Principal Mrs. Fay and to all the staff for making me feel so welcome ā¤ļø

The magic of mindfulness✨ when a parent messages to let you know what a positive impact your one to one mindfulness sessions had on her daughter. This child struggles with anxiety which made everyday tasks like going to school and evening activities a big challenge. Through gentle breathwork, mindful poses to release tension stored in the body and discussion work through arts and crafts she has made a complete turn around since starting in January. Fantastic work I’m so proud of her šŸ’— These moments of connection and understanding without judgment can have a massive impact on a child’s life.

Big thank you to Stephanie the Health & Wellbeing officer at Cornafean G.F.C for having me for Mindfulness classes today. We started with some deep belly breathing and breathing ball activities. We released tension in our bodies using mindful poses and stretches. The theme for class today was ā€˜Positive Me’ and we discussed all of our different qualities that make us special and unique, we read some positive affirmations to remind us that we are brave, smart, strong, kind and amazing. We enjoyed painting our clay heart pieces and our positivity mirrors. Well done everyone great work šŸ‘šŸ»ā¤ļø
