Health and Safety Campaign 2026 Recap👷‍♂️

On the completion of our Health and Safety Campaign 2026, we would like to thank everyone who took part and contributed to its success.

The past two weeks provided us with valuable opportunities to raise awareness, share knowledge, and reinforce the importance of health, safety, and wellbeing across all our sites and offices.

Throughout the campaign, our teams took part in a variety of activities, demonstrations, and interactive sessions, highlighting the importance of recognising risks, looking out for one another, and maintaining a strong safety culture in everything we do.

Walls Technology European Event 🌍

We recently brought together our Walls Technology colleagues from Ireland, Finland and Belgium for a day filled with learning, collaboration, professional development, and opportunities to connect with the wider company.

Colleagues took part in a variety of presentations and discussions covering key areas of the business, encouraging knowledge sharing, gaining fresh perspectives and valuable insights across our European teams.

A busy day was followed by an evening of networking, providing a chance to unwind and enjoy social activities!

Green Transformation Awards 2026 🌱

We are proud to be shortlisted for the Green Transformation Team of the Year 2026 at this year's Transformation Awards!

Led by Louise Martin and supported by a dedicated interdepartmental ESG committee, our Sustainability Team plays a key role in driving our 'Building Our Future Together' vision. From managing environmental compliance to tracking the implementation of our Sustainability Action strategy, Walls continues to make real progress across carbon reduction, biodiversity and people-focused initiatives, including Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDI&B) and social value.

We are delighted with this recognition, which reflects our ongoing commitment and dedication to creating a more sustainable future and we look forward to the results at the Green Transformation Awards on Friday the 6th of November.

Open Day at The National Velodrome and Badminton Centre

As one of the lead sponsors of Irish Architecture Foundation, Open House Dublin 2026, Walls were delighted to welcome members of the public to The National Velodrome and Badminton Centre project in partnership with Sport Ireland last Saturday.

We hosted three group sessions at the Sport Ireland Campus in Blanchardstown on the day, and visitors enjoyed refreshments and an introductory presentation by Gary Maher, Project Manager at Walls, followed by a guided site walk. Also available to answer questions and provide details of this major development were Dr Úna May, CEO of Sport Ireland, and Rebecca Ryan, Project Director at Tallon Walker Architects.

Our guests took the opportunity to look the behind the scenes, and gain valuable insights into the construction process and the architects' vision. They also learned how the NVBC will give athletes with Cycling Ireland and Badminton Ireland the environment they need to train, compete and excel internationally, and open new pathways into sport for people of all ages and abilities.

Overall, a great day, and we were delighted to showcase the work under way on this exciting project. A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a success!

Lighthouse Mental Health Event 𖡎

We are delighted to welcome the Lighthouse Charity “Make it Visible Van” to our Marmalade Lane, Dublin 16 project today for a valuable session highlighting awareness about mental health and of the importance of looking out for one another.

Their visit includes informal and engaging discussion and encourages open discussion about mental health and wellbeing, perhaps especially important with the winter months approaching.

A big thank you to the Lighthouse team for their continued work in raising awareness of mental health across the construction industry and the support available. Thanks also to the Marmalade Lane team for facilitating the visit.

Theatre at Work🎭

Organised in line with this year CIF H&S campaign, our project teams recently took part in an interactive site safety programme, delivered by Theatre at Work, highlighting the importance of making safe decisions, strong leadership, recognising potential risks, and looking out for one another on site.

Through interactive film and live performances, real-life workplace safety scenarios are brought to life, demonstrating how the smallest actions or decisions can have a significant impact on safety. The workshops encouraged discussion around key safety themes, including personal responsibility, risk awareness, the importance of speaking up and taking action to prevent incidents.

They also tasked our teams to reflect on everyday safety practices and the positive impact awareness, communication, and being proactive can have across our sites, so everyone can Arrive Safe, Work Safe, and Leave Safe.

Lara Gillespie - World Champion 2026🥇☘️

Huge congratulations to Gillespie on becoming the World Champion yesterday in Shanghai, China!

An outstanding performance in the Points Race at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, and Lara’s second World Championship title in two years, having taken gold in the Elimination in Chile in 2025.

We are proud to support Lara on her sporting journey and see her dedication, skill and hard work rewarded with such a well-deserved achievement.

In-House Health and Safety Campaign Launch 🚧

We recently launched our in-house Health and Safety Campaign, running in line with the Construction Industry Federation Construction Safety Campaign 2026.

Over the next two weeks, project teams and our supply chain will take part in various activities and initiatives designed to raise awareness and reinforce the importance of health, safety and wellbeing across our sites and workplaces.

The campaign is an important opportunity to refresh our focus on safe working practices, encourage conversations around health, safety and wellbeing and remind everyone of our role in keeping ourselves and those around us safe.

We look forward to sharing some of the activities taking place over the coming weeks!
