Being found not guilty is not the same thing as being proven innocent in court, and being found guilty doesn’t necessarily tell us everything about the morality of a person either. Court room is absolutely different to social media speculations.

Based on what this far right man described, my view is that the remark “go back to India” is prejudicial.
Here’s why: The NHS and HSE has long relied on internationally trained and overseas-born staff, including many nurses from India and other countries. Criticizing immigration as a general political position is one thing; singling out an individual who is legally working in a profession that addresses a critical public need is another.

Seeing the full interaction, I can judge the far right manmotives with absolute certainty based on the exchange you between the, and telling an Indian NHS nurse to “go back to India” after learning he is an NHS nurse would reasonably be interpreted as a xenophobic and quite possibly racial comment rather than a good-faith discussion about immigration policy.

If an Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) Olorundare Moshood Jimoh is the subject of criminal allegations, the Nigeria Police Force has the legal authority to transfer the investigation to another command or to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja. Such a transfer is not automatic, but it can be directed by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to preserve the integrity and public confidence in the investigation.

The Minister of Justice does not have operational control over police investigations and therefore cannot direct that a case be moved from Lagos to Abuja. Decisions about where police investigations are conducted remain within the authority of the Nigeria Police Force, principally through the IGP and Force Headquarters.

Where concerns exist about a conflict of interest, the appropriate course is to petition the IGP to transfer the matter to the FCID or another independent investigative unit. This is particularly relevant where the allegations concern a senior officer serving in the same command that would otherwise conduct the investigation.

An AIG who is accused of a criminal offence does not have the authority to determine how the investigation into those allegations is conducted. Likewise, officers under that AIG should not investigate allegations involving their superior where there is a reasonable perception of bias. In such circumstances, an independent investigation helps protect both the rights of the complainant and the reputation of the police institution.

Regarding disciplinary measures, the Inspector-General of Police may recommend that an AIG be relieved of operational duties or reassigned while an investigation is ongoing. However, the constitutional authority to discipline, suspend, or dismiss senior police officers such as an AIG rests with the Police Service Commission (PSC). Allegations alone do not automatically require suspension, but where the circumstances create a real or perceived conflict of interest, temporarily stepping the officer aside may be appropriate to ensure a credible investigation.

In summary, the main issue is whether an investigation can be impartial when the officer accused is a senior police commander within the same jurisdiction conducting the investigation. The objective is to ensure independence, transparency, and public confidence; the most appropriate request is for the Inspector-General of Police to transfer the investigation to the FCID in Abuja or another independent unit while the Police Service Commission considers whether any interim disciplinary measures against the accused AIG are warranted.

I would be careful not to treat the claims as established facts without reliable evidence.
A child resembling someone strongly can create suspicion, but resemblance is not legal or scientific proof of paternity.

If paternity is disputed, a properly conducted DNA test is the clearest way to establish the truth by both parties involved.
If Wasiu Ayinde is confirmed to be the biological father, then the discussion should not mainly be about whether the woman “trapped” him.

Pregnancy does not remove the father’s responsibility to the child. The child did not choose the circumstances and deserves recognition, care, and support. At the same time, if paternity has not been proven, it would be unfair to declare the man responsible simply because the child looks like him.

New grad nurse reminder: As you begin your journey as a new graduate nurse, remember that you do not have to know everything all at once. Nursing is a journey of continuous learning, growth, and self-discovery.

There will be challenging days, moments of self-doubt, and times when you feel overwhelmed, but these moments do not define your ability to become an excellent nurse. They are part of the process of becoming stronger, wiser, and more confident.

Build your resilience to strengthen your mindset. Give yourself permission to learn from your mistakes, ask questions, and keep going. Never give up on yourself! No one will do it for you, so don't waste too much time feeling sorry for yourself!

Your resilience level will grow each time you face a challenge, reflect on it, learn from it, and choose to try again. Be patient with yourself because a bad leadership style will break you with criticism, so learn to celebrate your progress, even when it feels small.

You are not expected to be perfect from the lecturer in school, but we are expected to be willing to learn, to care, to grow, and to keep showing up.

My advice from my pre-reg nurse to you is to bring your resilience level up. You are capable of more than you may realise, and every shift is another opportunity to grow into the nurse you are becoming. Reflection is the cornerstone of your growth, so make use of it.

I have been reflecting compassionately, and asking myself!
How did we get here?
I know that self awareness is often the first step toward healing from traumatic events. Olukemi Mudah

You begin to wonder if this is all life is supposed to be! Yet, so many people are carrying this same silent burden, suffering quietly because nobody really talks about it.
