WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2026
When we talk about health, most people immediately think about hospitals, medications, exercise, or healthy food.
But here's a question:
How often do we think about the air we breathe, the water we drink, the soil that grows our food, or the environment we live in every day?
The truth is that our health is closely connected to the health of our environment.
As a Medical Doctor and a Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist in Training, I often remind people that wellness goes beyond what happens inside the body. It also includes the world around us.
The quality of the air we breathe affects our lungs and heart.
The quality of the water we drink affects every system in our bodies.
The food we eat depends on healthy soil, clean water, and a thriving ecosystem.
When our environment becomes polluted, human health pays the price.
We see it in the increasing burden of respiratory diseases, allergies, cardiovascular diseases, and other chronic health conditions linked to environmental factors.
This World Environment Day, let us remember that protecting our environment is also a form of preventive healthcare.
Plant a tree.
Dispose of waste responsibly.
Reduce plastic pollution.
Keep your surroundings clean.
Conserve water.
Support initiatives that protect our natural environment.
Healthy communities begin with healthy environments.
