✔️ Claiming Child Benefit
✔️ Adding your baby to your GP and health insurance

As a Midwife, Children's Nurse and IBCLC Lactation Consultant, I know that preparing for a baby isn't just about labour. It's about feeling confident in those first few weeks at home too.

A baby carrier is one of the items I recommend most often as a midwife, children's nurse and IBCLC.

Babies are biologically designed to want to be close to their mothers - you are the only constant in a world that has changed entirely for them!

Babywearing can help soothe a fussy baby, encourage breastfeeding, make contact naps easier, and allow you to get on with everyday tasks while keeping your little one close.

Not every baby carrier suits every family, so it's worth trying a few different styles if you can. The most important thing is that it fits both you and your baby correctly and is used safely. Remember the T.I.C.K.S. guidelines for safe babywearing:

🤍 Tight
🤍In view at all times
🤍 Close enough to kiss
🤍 Keep chin off the chest
🤍Supported back

Just found out you're pregnant? Congratulations! 🤍

Along with the excitement often comes a lot of questions...

✨ What happens next?
✨ When will I see my midwife?
✨ What appointments will I have?
✨ What do I need to organise before my baby arrives?

As a Midwife, Children's Nurse and IBCLC Lactation Consultant, these are the questions I'm asked all the time. Pregnancy can feel overwhelming, especially when you're trying to make sense of all the information online.

That's exactly why I've created my FREE Pregnancy Guide for Ireland.

Inside, you'll find:
🤍 A pregnancy appointment timeline
🤍 An overview of maternity care in Ireland
🤍 What to expect after your baby is born
🤍 Your baby's vaccination schedule
🤍 A simple post-birth admin checklist
🤍 My favourite apps and practical midwife tips

My hope is that this guide helps you feel a little calmer, a little more prepared, and more confident as you begin this wonderful journey.

Because preparing for your baby isn't just about labour—it's about feeling supported through pregnancy, breastfeeding, newborn care, and those special first weeks together.

You spend months preparing for labour… but what about the weeks after your baby arrives? 🤍

As a Midwife, Children's Nurse, IBCLC Lactation Consultant, NICU nurse and mum of two, I've supported hundreds of families through those first special (and sometimes overwhelming!) weeks.

One thing parents say to me time and time again is:

"I wish someone had told me this before my baby was born."

That's exactly why I have created Bringing Baby Home - Everything you need to know for your baby's first few weeks.

This isn't another class full of unrealistic expectations or information overload. It's a practical, evidence-based session designed to answer the questions every new parent has.

Together we'll cover:
✨ What happens after birth
✨ Feeding your newborn
✨ Newborn sleep
✨ Nappies and what's normal
✨ Bathing and cord care
✨ When to seek medical advice
✨ Essential newborn admin

This class will help you leave the hospital feeling calm, confident and ready to care for your baby.

If you've recently had your baby's tongue tie released but feeding still doesn't feel right, this is for you. 🤍

Lately I've been seeing so many mums asking on WhatsApp and Facebook groups, "Why is my baby still struggling after a tongue tie release?"

I know this can be so disheartening, Mama! When you have had the procedure and believed it would "fix" feeding issues... But tongue tie release is often just one part of the journey.

If your baby is still:
🤍 Arching their back during feeds
🤍 Taking in lots of air
🤍 Clicking or struggling to stay latched
🤍 Unsettled, fussy or uncomfortable after feeds
..they may simply need some help learning how to use their new tongue movement.

This is something I support families with all the time. Using gentle, simple techniques, I can show you how to help your baby develop a more effective suck, making feeding more comfortable and enjoyable for both of you.

You don't have to keep hoping things will improve on their own. I would love to support you to experience the joy of feeding your baby 🤱🏼

If this sounds like your feeding journey, send me a message. I'd love to help. 💛

One of those little breastfeeding tips that can save a lot of frustration later!

If you're freezing breast milk, remember to leave a little space at the top of your bag or bottle. Breast milk expands when it freezes, and overfilling can lead to leaks and wasted milk. 😩

After all the time and effort that goes into expressing, nobody wants to open the freezer and find an overflowing milk bag!

Have you noticed this if you are freezing expressed breast milk?
