The HSA is delighted to announce the release of the updated Guidelines on First-Aid at Places of Work.

Key changes include the update to the training requirements for occupational first-aiders to reflect the PHECC FAR training standard, updates to first-aid kit contents, guidance on emergency showers and eye washes, and updates with information on AEDs.

This guidance helps employers, employees, safety representatives, and others understand the requirements outlined in Chapter 2, Part 7 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Regulations 2007 (S.I. No. 299 of 2007)

Re: DefibTech AED Pads – Field Safety Notice

Following the release of the Field Safety Notice from DefibTech, First Aid Systems conducted a thorough investigation to determine whether we were affected by the issue outlined in the notice.

Regrettably, it has come to our attention that we received pads with labels that had been unofficially altered or modified.

We are deeply disappointed to have been placed in this position, and we extend our sincere apologies to our valued customers who have trusted us. We are committed to working closely with our customers to resolve the situation and ensure that all machines and pads are fully operational and ready for use in any emergency.

Furthermore, we are cooperating fully with DefibTech’s ongoing investigation and are prepared to support any local statutory investigations that may be initiated.
