With the high temperatures we are currently experiencing, please take care of yourself and your loved ones. βοΈ
Heat stroke is a serious medical emergency caused by prolonged exposure to high temperatures and the body's inability to regulate its temperature, often associated with dehydration. π¨
Common signs and symptoms include:
High body temperature
Dizziness or fainting
Severe headache
Nausea or vomiting
Rapid heartbeat
Confusion, disorientation, or weakness
If you or someone else develops these symptoms, seek immediate medical attention. In the meantime, move the person to a cool place, begin cooling them if possible, and ensure they stay hydrated if they are conscious and able to drink. π
Stay cool, drink plenty of fluids, avoid prolonged sun exposure during the hottest part of the day, and check in on family members, neighbours, and those who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
