💙 **Ahead of tomorrow’s Leaving Cert results, just a thought I would like to share**

For many it will be a day of celebrations for many, but for some, the results may not be what they hoped for - I've been there...

Please remember: **your Leaving Cert results do not define your future.**
it's ... just a cert. One of many you will achieve throughout your life.

Life has so many avenues - you didn't even meet yet, and there is never just one path.

I have changed career direction several times myself as my circumstances, passions and simply life changed. Some opportunities never came my way, while others appeared - I could never have imagined when I was leaving school.

Plans change - interests change. Careers change. We learn new things. Develop different strenghts. We start again. We discover opportunities we didn't know existed.

A set of results is **one moment in your life — not your whole story.** One Step at a time. We live in the "now".

If tomorrow feels overwhelming, please talk to someone. A parent, family member, friend, teacher or someone you trust. And if you don't feel you have someone you can speak to, there are free support services and people who will listen. Feel free to get in touch and I can direct you.

And to parents: whatever those results say tomorrow, remember when you were there? Please remind your young person that there are always other routes and other opportunities. 💙

Celebrate the path, not just the result. Celebrate safely, look after your friends, make a plan for getting home and never be afraid to ask for help.

This September I'm taking on the challenge of running 60 miles to raise funds for Pieta, an incredible charity providing free support to people affected by su***de, self-harm, and those experiencing emotional distress.

Back from a fantastic family holiday and straight back into training! 💪

Today it's BLS, FAR and Tourniquet Upskilling training with UFAS at the Maldron Hotel, Portlaoise.

It's always great to refresh existing skills, learn the latest updates, and catch up with fellow instructor colleagues. Continuous professional development helps ensure I'm delivering the highest standard of first aid training to every participant.

Summer holidays are here. Beaches, lakes, rivers and pools will be full of families enjoying the water. While water brings fun, it also demands respect.

Swimming is not just a sport or a hobby — it is a life-saving skill.

There have already been 42 confirmed drowning deaths in Irish waters since the start of 2026.

Drowning in Ireland affects men and boys, with around 72% of drowning victims being male.

These are not just statistics — they are sons, fathers, brothers, friends and loved ones.

As parents and carers, we can all help:
🏊 Enrol children in swimming lessons.
👀 Supervise children closely around water.
🦺 Wear a lifejacket during water activities.
🌊 Choose lifeguarded beaches where possible.

📱 In an emergency, call 112 or 999 immediately.

Let’s make this a summer filled with happy memories — not preventable tragedies.
