The first half of life is often spent learning how to cope, fit in, and protect yourself. As you grow older, you may begin to let go of things that no longer feel true to who you are. This isn't failing or falling apart, it can be a process of growth, healing and becoming more authentic to yourself.

Sometimes taking a break from demands of daily life, allows us to rest, reflect and restore our emotional energy. Counselling gives us the space to slow down and reconnect with ourselves and can improve our overall wellbeing.

On difficult days, be gentle with yourself, do small comforting things, reach out for support, nourish your body, and remember it's ok to slow down and do less...rest.

Therapy doesn't always feel relieving right away - and that's ok.

Sometimes it feels like: noticing patterns you hadn't seen before, feeling emotions more clearly, leaving sessions thoughful, instead of "fixed". Realising how much you are holding.

That doesn't mean therapy isn't working. It means awareness is growing.

If therapy feels awkward, emotional or slow at times, you're not behind, you're learning.

Anxiety doesn't always "look" anxious. It's feeling like it's doomsday when something small to others sets you off. It's feeling your heart racing over a simple text. It's needing reassurance but being afraid to ask for it.

But just because it's invisible doesn't mean it's not exhausting.

If this resonates with you, you're not alone. Your reactions, are not an overreaction - they're a response to what you've been carrying.

Loosening the grip is the hardest part...but it's where the healing begins.

Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is stop pretending you're unbreakable and allow yourself to feel everything you've been holding inside.

Healing doesn't begin with strength, it begins with honesty, with accepting that begin human means you will hurt and still find a way forward.

Spending time by the sea, can help support our mental health by calming the mind and slowing racing thoughts through the soothing rhythm of the waves.

I understand this on such a deep level. When things start to move the temptation is to hold it in place yet there are times you need to let things change, let life rearrange itself. Things falling apart is necessary to create space for the life you want and deserve.

Sometimes the harder we try to control everything in our lives, the heavier it begins to feel. We replay conversations worrying about outcomes and try to force things to unfold the way we think they should. But life rarely moves that way.

There is freedom that comes from letting go a little. Not giving up but allowing space for things to unfold naturally. When we loosen our grip we often find that what is meant for us still finds its way.

Endorphins are amazing little neurochemicals that give us that natural high feeling - euphoria, feeling alive, feeling good.

They are natural mood boosters. Strong releases of endorphins can come through activity but also through play, social interactions, laughter and shared fun.
