Collooney Community Playground

Collooney Community Playground is a fully community-funded facility, and responsibility for its upkeep, maintenance, repairs and insurance now rests with our newly formed volunteer committee.

Our immediate priority is raising this year's insurance premium and secure the playground's future for the coming year.

We have contacted local businesses seeking sponsorship and are very grateful for the response received so far.

Unfortunately, we were unable to source contact details for every business in the area, so if you own a business and have not heard from us, please get in touch @ [email protected]

We would also welcome donations from individuals who would like to support the playground. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help us reach our target and keep the playground open for local children and families.

📣📣 Feeling Disheartened 🥺🥺

As a community owned playgound and shared space, this facility belongs to all of us.

We love to see our youth enjoy themselves, unfortunately, we continue to find significant amounts of rubbish being left behind on a regular basis.

This is unacceptable. The playground is maintained through the efforts of volunteers and community members, and it is not the responsibility of others to clean up litter that has been carelessly discarded.

We are asking all parents, guardians, and users of the park to respect the space. Unfortunately, we have had to remove a bin due to repeated misuse, including household waste being dumped in it by both adults and others.

Please be aware that CCTV cameras are in operation.

We want this to remain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy. Respect for the space and for the people who use and maintain it is essential.

We’d really appreciate it if local community groups could share this message to help raise awareness and encourage respect for the playground and amenities.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who gave up their time, energy, and muscle power to help with our local clean-up. Your hard work truly made a difference, and the before and after photos say it all! 🙌

Due to additional works needing to be carried out before we can move to the next stage of our re-vamp, tomorrow’s clean- up has been postponed.

We’ll share an update soon with the new date and next steps 📅

🚧 Playground Closed for Cleanup 🌿

To help keep our playground clean, safe, and ready for fun, we will be closing the playground from Friday through Monday for scheduled cleanup and maintenance.

This temporary closure is necessary to ensure the health and safety of all children and families who use the space. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation while we complete this important work.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday to enjoy a fresh and refreshed playground! 🌞
