Close to the airport and Dublin City Centre, Swords has been over the years one of the fastest growing cities in Europe. Fingal County Council's Strategic Vision for Swords is to create a sustainable new city. They have referred to Swords as an "emerging city" and project that the population of Swords will r

ise towards 100,000 by the year 2035. Swords is the home to a large retail and business park called Airside Retail and Business Park, on the southern fringe of the town, hosting many employers. East of the town, running parallel to Swords bypass, lies the large Swords Business Park. A little country town that has since morphed into a large satellite of Dublin City, Swords is literally up the road from Dublin Airport. With a major shopping centre, retail and business parks, this north County Dublin town is now a significant centre for commerce and an administrative capital for the area.
