A 21 yrs old male was brought to emergency with history of RTA with complaints of unable to stand on Rt leg and pain with movement at hip.
On examination the leg was externally rotated with tenderness at hip and intact distal neurovascular functions.
On xray hip a intertrochanteric femur fracture was identified and patient was explained about it and need for surgical fixation.
Patient was admitted, all relevant investigations were carried out and skin traction was applied.
Post fitness patient was taken up for surgery the next day.
In OT under spinal anesthesia, on fracture table, fracture was reduced under c arm and preparation was done.
With minimal invasive approach nailing for femur was done and satisfactory reduction and fixation was achieved with Antegrade Femur Nail with screws fixed in Neck & head of femur and distally in shaft.
Patient was started on physiotherapy next day after pain control and was mobilised with support of walker.
