You are both the wave and the particle, simultaneously. Both energy and matter.
When you see yourself as matter, the wave, or energy, has collapsed into form. This gives you fewer possibilities. When you see yourself as the wave, as energy, a whole new world opens up to you.
Now, both are true. You are both the wave and the particle, simultaneously. But identifying with one or the other allows you to choose how you experience reality.
When you are playing in the world, most play as the character and identify only as the character. This will naturally bring pain and suffering because you are in the story, and the story always has an arc. The character experiences the opposites. It has to! How else does it know itself in the play?
On the other hand, you are also the energy, and the space, that which makes the play possible.
When you identify as the energy, you know the whole story that is about to unfold and is unfolding in that moment. You begin to see beyond the limitations of the character. There is a freedom here because you are no longer completely lost in the story. You can be a part of it and yet apart from it, like a witness enjoying the play.
You still laugh, cry, love, lose, create, and experience life, but you know there is something deeper than the character moving through those experiences. You know yourself as the energy animating the form.
Then there is another perspective.
The perspective of the space that the whole play is happening in. This is your true nature when united. From this place, nothing is happening in reality, yet everything is a possibility within it. The wave, the particle, the character, the story, all arise within this vast space of awareness. From this perspective, you see it all as illusory, like a dream happening in your mind.
The characters, the drama, and the joys and sorrows seem real. Yet you know they are appearances arising within consciousness. You are the particle. You are the wave. You are the space in which both appear. And you are aware that, how and what you identify with, determines how you experience this reality.
Aum Namah Shivaya!
