✨ Save this - 5 Tips for sore ni***es👇🏼

1️⃣ Correct the latch
Sore ni***es are most commonly due to a poor latch.
A good latch means:
🔺Baby takes a large portion of ar**la, not just the ni**le
🔺Lips are fl**ged outward
🔺Chin touches the breast

👉 When latch is deep, pressure is not concentrated on the ni**le—reducing pain and preventing cracks.

2️⃣ Apply hindmilk
After a feed, express a few drops of hindmilk and gently apply over the ni**le and allow to air dry

🔺Breastmilk has natural anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties

3️⃣ Change different breastfeeding positions
Using the same position repeatedly puts pressure on the same area of the ni**le.
Try rotating positions:
🔺Cross cradle
🔺Cradle hold
🔺Football hold
🔺Side-lying
🔺Laid-back

👉 This redistributes pressure and allows sore areas to rest and heal.

4️⃣ Use the right fl**ge size (if pumping)

🔺An incorrect fl**ge size can cause:
Friction → ni**le trauma
Reduced milk removal → worsened pain

5️⃣ Break suction gently while unlatching
Never pull the baby directly off the breast.

Instead:
🔺Insert a clean finger into the corner of baby’s mouth
🔺Gently break the suction before removing

👉 This prevents ni**le stretching, cracks, and trauma—a very common but overlooked cause of pain.

💡Most important - Get help from a lactation consultant when facing issues with Breastfeeding .
Pain is common but not Normal . Breastfeeding should be pain free and comfortable ❤️🩷💙💚

✨ Breastmilk is a dynamic, living fluid perfectly designed for your baby:

🔺About 87% water for hydration
- No extra water is needed even in hot climates
- Keeps baby hydrated
- Foremilk is more water-rich → quenches thirst
- Hindmilk is rich in fat - helps in weight gain and satiety

🔺Lactose is the main energy source supporting brain growth and calcium absorption

🔺Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMO) act as prebiotics and protect against infections

🔺Breastmilk contains easily digestible proteins like Lactoferrin and Secretory IgA that provide powerful immune protection

🔺Fats rich in DHA and ARA for brain and eye development along with enzymes, hormones, vitamins, and highly bioavailable minerals that support overall growth—making breastmilk not just nutrition, but tailored to your baby’s needs.

✨ Most mothers think they have “low milk supply"
But sometimes, it’s just the wrong fl**ge size.

✨ Why fl**ge size matters ?
Milk production works on a supply-demand mechanism.
When milk is not effectively removed, a protein called Feedback Inhibitor of Lactation (FIL) builds up and signals the breast to slow down production.

⚠️ A wrong fl**ge size can:

🔺Reduce milk flow
🔺Cause incomplete emptying
🔺Decrease oxytocin (letdown reflex) due to pain and also result in avoidance of pumping sessions

👉🏼 Leads to lower milk removal over time and in turn can lower milk supply

This is not just about comfort—
It directly affects your milk supply.

💡Remember :
Low pumping output ≠ low supply

✨Save this!!
Foremilk–Hindmilk Imbalance!
👉 Happens when baby gets more foremilk (watery, lactose-rich milk) and not enough hindmilk (fat-rich, filling milk)

✨ Here are 4 signs that your baby is getting more foremilk than hindmilk 👇🏼

1️⃣ Slow weight gain
Foremilk - rich in lactose and water - quenches thirst
Hindmilk - rich in fat - helps in weight gain and satiety
🔺Less hindmilk = less fat = slow weight gain

2️⃣ Green frothy stools
Too much lactose from foremilk → gut gets overwhelmed resulting in faster transit → green stools

3️⃣ Gassy baby and fussiness
Excess lactose ferments in gut and produces gas → discomfort

4️⃣ Feeds frequently, unsatisfied feeds
Baby wants to feed again very soon after feeding.
Foremilk fills the stomach but doesn't keep the baby full .
Hindmilk rich in fat helps in satiety

💡How to handle ?
Allow the baby to feed on one breast well. Give enough time at one breast before offering the other.
Do not switch breasts very frequently.
